My childrens' father is supportive of breastfeeding. He loves it it because everytime our daughter fusses he says Honey, I think She wants you!<img src="/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> He gets off easy.

My husband would be a fool not to be! The baby sleeps on the side of the bed attached to ours (it's all safe with no cracks whatsoever). In the middle of the night, the baby doesn't even cry because I wake up about 30 seconds before she does and anticipate her needs. So she nurses, doesn't wake anyone up, and hubby gets a full night's sleep.

Not buying packaged infant formula has saved us a ton of money. Not just formula, but all the stuff that has to go along with it.

Our children are much healthier, and with that, comes the added benefit of no extra medical expenses.

My husband is happy because there's simply no better food we can give the children. We want the best!

My husband actually insisted I nurse #3 and #4 after hard conversions with #2 (#1 was not nursed). Now #5 is due and will have problems and will be unable to nurse due to a deformation, but hubby said we can buy one of those hostpial grade pumps and pump for him.

of course he is very supportive. We can save a lot of money than buying infant milk. We also believe tht breastmilk has more nutrients that can really protect our baby against sickness.

You are sure going to have your hands full! I wish more moms of multiple kids would try breast feeding but so many give up early due to how many kids they have on hand. You may find with 5 kids pumping logistically difficult. If you end up having to use formula, it will be ok. With so many kids at home, the younger babies do get exposed to more crud which often overcomes the benefits of breast feeding - like having your own daycare at home.

In my practice, which is a huge multi-center practice in Massachusetts, we've taken a more moderate "a growing baby is a healthy baby" approach so moms who can't or don't want to nurse don't have any guilt. In the end, a baby who is growing well and loved will thrive, even if not given breast milk.

We have 4-year-old twin daughters and our son will be born within a few weeks. I didn't breastfeed the twins and my husband and I took turns during the nighttime feedings, but this time I'm going to breastfeed and it will be all me. He won't get off that easy though because I'm putting him in charge of girls; getting them up and ready in the morning and giving baths and such. I'm really lucky that he's a real Mr. Mom and has never had any problems with doing stuff for the kids, even when I was working and left him home in the evenings with the infant twins!

I also formula fed my first child and my hubby shared nighttime feedings. I coslept with my baby, though, so it was really easy!!!!

Hubby is very supportive of my nursing Loralei and has seen how wonderful it is for her. Kudos to you for nursing this time around. It's definitely different. She's 17 months old and I've never washed a bottle!! LOL
