Mikeiboy,

About the only move that sucked worse then the big leg drop was the peoples elbow, the "most stupidest" move on the face of the earth. But, it is interesting to see the correlation between the worlds dumbest moves belonging to the worlds most beloved wrestlers.

Have you forgotten The Worm???? Or the Stinkface?

Shudder.

But, yes, that People's Elbow is today's Five Knuckle Shuffle. I hope Cena though ends up like Rock. Successful and respected.

Patty

I knew there were worse ones out there lol, just couldn't think of them off the top of my head. The worm!! makes Hogan's leg drop look awesome doesn't it.. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Hey, the worm move of Scotty too Hotty was way cool, and did not suck. The Stinkface of Rikishi was a legitimate bad move, as his big butt in my face would put ME out. So those two moves arn't silly in my book.

And if you will buy that, I have property on the moon to sell ya!

Getting back to the subject of Warrior and Goldberg. Nup!

Warrior was such a loon. Never liked his style or ring entro or nothing much past WWII. Was well bored with it by then. Goldberg, yes. I can see that working. And I think the Sid Vicous idea is a good one too.
But surely there's gotta be est talent who aren't all muscleheads. Where have all the Marty Janetty's, Phil Lafont's, Doug Furnas', Ted Dibiase, Rick Steamboat's and the like gone? (I'm not saying these guys should come and wrestle now, I'm saying wrestlers of that ilk) Guys who could work with anyone.
Hell, I'd love to see my fav The MAcho Man come back, but as PAtty said, he's outta shape (much like the warrior).
I guess some dreams just die hey?

PAtty, are there any standouts coming through the indi, Japan or English circuits we should look out for?

PS. Could a Fatty (eg. Bundy, OMG, Gorrilla Monsoon) make it in todays world?

Savage was in TNA but that didn't go over well. Steamboat was also in TNA and ROH before taking a job with WWE. He is still marvelous in the ring and it is shame he is behind the scenes.

Marty had two chances and, sadly, blew both but there is still a chance for him to come back to WWE. He says he isn't interested in TNA.

Ted is awesome and I loved seeing him in WWE for that cameo at WM.

Sid has said he wants to go to WWE and is holding out for an offer. I don't know if he would do much for the promotion. I think he would fit better in TNA.

There are a lot of very good workers out there who could go to TNA and shine, I think. No one even heard of Samoa Joe (aside from we indy lovers) before TNA and he has blown away the fans and they crowd is solidly behind everything he does. He doesn't LOOK like a traditional wrestler. He isn't a muscled up and a bodybuilder but he won them over with his realistic persona and his ring work.

I think a "fatty" can make it, sure. It is all in the personality and the build up as well as persona. While WWE loves their big, huge bodybuilder types, TNA is less about the look and more about the ability. If there is someone out there (and Abyss almost fits but he is good in the ring and not just a rotund character) who is impressive, sure, he could make it if given the right program.

WWE just signed Harry Smith, British Bulldog's son. He is definitely someone to watch for in the future. He chose to work indies for a while to learn new things before going to WWE and that worked for him. I have seen him and he is impressive.

There are a lot of up and coming guys in the indies. Just who will break out depends on who chooses to sign them and their push. The best wrestlers can be buried in a bad program. Rico, who people think of as a goofy, gay character was actually a prodigy who started wrestling very late and could look at a move and replicate it after one try. He never got to show that side of himself. There are a few others who have that ability as well. They can just watch a move and do it realistically.

Hopefully some of those guys will show up in TNA or WWE. Both federations could use one or two really good, new workers who can infuse excitement into the shows. Both have great talent now but it is always fun to see new guys like Ken Kennedy get over almost immediately.

HEY! YOO HOO, OVER HERE! I can go either fatty or musclehead! Someone get Vince on the line! Or, I'll also do TNA in a pinch. If not it's back to the bingo halls for me. :*(

Thanks Patty for the Indi update.
What's the story in Japan these days? Used to be huge when I followed it. (Days of Giant Baba, Tatsumi Fujinami, Jushin Liger, Great Muta etc, I believe even former boxer Leon Spinks was a part of FMW for a while)
Guys like Bam Bam Bigelow and Stan the Man become freakin' legends over there. Even Hogan did a run or two in his early days.

Also, so as to not offend any one. It wasn't WWII I lost interest in the Warrior (was he even wrestling then?).
It was after WW4, I think about the time of the Herc and Warrior chain busting episode. Give me a break!

Jushin Liger was scheduled to wrestle in TNA but had a Japan show to do but he will be there soon for a match or two. Still very much over and very talented.

Japan is where it's at at the moment. It seems many of the stars who can't find work in the US find great success in Japan because they love bigger Americans and also talented smaller ones. The pay is really good for these guys too. But the work rate is much higher and the Japanese work much stiffer so they better be prepared to feel the pain!

I was never a Warrior fan but my son was HUGE. I then worked with him and that solidified my feelings that he was overrated and pretty much not worth a heck of a lot but at one time, people went nuts for him. I guess every character has his moment... Still there have been several similar characters (One was Renegade who committed suicide after being fired from WCW) who never got over at all with the same type of paint, outfit, and entrance so it says something for Warrior's persona. I am just not sure what. lol.

Warrior is crazy as a loon, but he did have a very successful run back in the day. I wonder if he feels somewhat bad about the suicide of the Renegade, even though it wasn't brought on by him. Face it, Hogan had the Renegade brought in to face him as a replacement for Warrior because he couldn't reconcile the fact he was forced to do the job for Warrior before he went to WCW. That's the story I heard anyway. Difficult, ego-eccentric and and over all pain in the butt is how I have heard him described, and I believe the reports. But I still stand by what I said when I first posted this way back several day's ago.
