TNA is making a big impact (No pun intended), and are actually giving WWE some much needed competition. Hopefully it will get WWE to be more creative, as they have gone stale as of late in my opinion. TNA signed Sting to a six figure, one year contract, but how about upping the ante? I know the future is with the younger guys, but people like Sting still hold valuable pull, and there is much to be said about passing the torch. If I held the purse strings at TNA I would try to get Ultimate Warrior! With the circus atmosphere between Warrior and WWE, that would really be something! Bring on Bill Goldberg and let the two go at it, I am telling you that angle would draw! Warrior with his intensity, and the almost invincible Goldberg...Vince would be shaking in his $400 alligator shoes!

Warrior is 45 years old, out of shape, and very difficult to work with (I did, trust me, he's difficult). He was cool years and years ago. Now most smart fans see him as a crazy guy who won't let go of his persona.

Goldberg proved he wasn't much of a draw in WWE. He could make a small impact I suppose in a good feud but Warrior sure isn't it.(Someone has to carry a match and neither have the skils to do so.)

Circus indeed. TNA needs to stay away from hiring people just because they once were over.

People who COULD make a difference, IMHO: Rock, Bret Hart, Jericho, Austin, Benoit (His contract is coming up for renegotiation), and maybe a few others (Sid Vicious/Psycho Sid would be fun).

Goldberg may make a difference in a feud with Monty Brown but he is just so grrrr about wrestling and his heart is not into it. I think fans know this and it sucks the life out of people to watch a guy who is so surly about the business going through the motions.

Conversely, I think Brock Lesnar would make a big splash in TNA. Although he has a rotten attitude (or did), he is young, very talented, well known, and can work with a number of wrestlers in TNA, unlike Goldberg who is incredibly limited in his move set.

The stars of today are what people need to get to know and they are doing a great job of getting over. Sting's hiring was an OK idea I suppose but the idea of making Sting "Steve Borden" is a turn off to old school Sting fans.

I worry about TNA's writing and creative team because they have been dropping the ball with good opportunities lately. I hope they can differentiate themselves from WWE and stay strong in the ring and come up with plausible storylines.

And taper Jeff Jarrett's TV time by 80%

What do others think? Do you want to see Warrior and Goldberg? And how long will their novelty last?

I voted no - simply because I don't want to see Goldberg and Warrior. Well, Warrior in particular, should be a DEFINITE no.

I have no problem with TNA bringing people in. But they have to be willing and able to put people over. Sting has said that he is looking forward to doing that - I can't picture either Warrior or Goldberg putting ego aside to do it.

Another point is that there surely have to be better people available than those two? Better in terms of attitude, better in terms of talent, better in terms of fame. TNA shouldn't settle for the trash, when they could aim for the treasure, if that makes sense. That's why I agree with Patty - aim for the big guys, the Bret Harts, the Jerichos, even.

Well, I had no idea Warrior was out of shape, I guess I remember him when he was still a viable wrestler. I also concur, he is crazy as a loon, but age, thats pushing it! Harley Race said that I won't make it in the wrestling world because I am not twenty years old so I am starting out too late. Well, watch me jump for the moon, if I miss I'll still be among the stars. Benoit, Jericho, and The Rock as TNA'ers, well possible for the first two, The Rock went Hollywood and isn't looking back. Bret had a stroke, so I think he is pretty much done, however if I had my druthers he would wrestle forever, I am a huge fan. Lesnar, never much of a fan of his, though the kid does have skills. Psycho Sid, well, that has possibilties. The number one reason I chose Warrior was because that would chap Vinces arse, that would make him HAVE to one up TNA, and it would breathe much needed life back into the programming. As far as Bill Goldberg, so he didn't pop in WWE, lack of push? At one time he was the hottest thing WCW had, until Nash, as booker, squashed the momentum by having himself end Goldbergs undefeated streak. I see I live in fantasy land with my thought processes people, but don't fight the urge, come along, once you get inside my head you don't want to go back! The suns out, theres wrestling on the stage, beers flowing and the waters fine!

I had to vote no as well. First off, I don't ever think the Warrior was a "viable" wrestler. His move set was just as limited as Hogan's. Warrior was all flash and no cash. He was big and powerful and, in my opinion, just happened to be at the right place at the right time, just like Hogan was.

Hogan would not be as big today as he was back in the 80's. Neither would the Warrior.

I agree that Sting was an okay move for TNA and like other Sting fans, don't really care for the Steve Borden angle. " You tell 'em that Sting won't be there but Steve Borden will be" ooooh, scary. lol.

Wrestling doesn't need any more Hogans, Warriors, Goldbergs, etc.
Wrestling needs more Dean Malenkos, Ricky Steamboats, Eddie Guerreros, Lou Theszs and Ric Flairs. (80's Ric Flairs).

When I used the word viable, it wasn't meant to say the Ultimate Warrior was good or anything, I meant he could still get in the ring and wrestle, limited as his move set may be. As far as Hogan, hey, say what you want, the man was responsible for a lot of what made wrestling main stream. Does anyone buy the big leg drop as a finisher? Not anymore, but Hulkamania did run wild over the MAIN STREAM WORLD, and there are millions and millions of people who stood up and let Hulkamania run wild over them. They can't all be wrong, and Hulk, he ran his Hulkamania straight to the bank.

I believe wrestling needs a mix. If you put all technical wrestlers in there, it would be boring. If you put all high flyers in there, that would get boring. If you put all muscleheaded strongmen, that would get boring. You need the three ring circus, that way there is something for everybody. AND THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR WOULD STILL MAKE VINCE ANGRY AS HECK, AND HE WOULD DO SOMETHINGABOUT IT, I DON'T CARE WHAT YA'LL THINK! (Maybe it's a good thing I am not a writer for the shows! lol)

As said before you need a wide variety of styles to keep it interesting. Sure Warrior may have ben limited in his moves but he brought that pumped up power to the ring and everyone got excited. I don't really think we have anyone now who has that, Hulk well he would be up then down then seem to draw off the crowd and rise above it to win!! Big leg drop as a finisher well I'm sure there's been a lot worse..

Mikeiboy,

About the only move that sucked worse then the big leg drop was the peoples elbow, the "most stupidest" move on the face of the earth. But, it is interesting to see the correlation between the worlds dumbest moves belonging to the worlds most beloved wrestlers.

Just a thought.

A but you can't do that because they were popular because they have such a great charisma, they know how to work a crowd. Hogan and his leg drop probably a decent match I couldn't see him doing a 5 star frog splash or a crippler crossface not his style. I think what we have to remember is these moves worked for them at the time. They provided great entertainment to lots of people..
