Happy Spring Equinox to Everyone! Can't you just feel Spring in the air? The Vernal Equinox (the Feasts of Ostara) I started celebrating by cleaning out my closet and counting my blessings!

Equinox Greetings to everyone. I spent the exact moment of the Equinox, plus before and after, trying to get the egg to balance. So far no luck. Rumor has it, at the exact moment of the Equinox it is possible to balance an egg on end. We did get an egg to do this only one time, and it was at nighttime on the Vernal Equinox, not in the daytime. However, we documented this on camcorder. We could only get it to balance one time. I am heading up to my place in the woods to plant Equinox fruit trees and wisteria, and work on my sunrise/sunset project.

Firefly,
I'd heard that about the egg, but I'd never tried it. I looked at the sunrise/sunset times today and they are 6:51 and 6:59. I wonder if that makes a difference in egg balance :::: Maybe it needs to be 6:55 and 6:55 exactly???
Your day sounds fun! I've got a few massages to give today, but will do something with the kids when I get home.

Equinox is here! Bright blessings to everyone. We did the egg trick, last year, and had better luck in the evening as well. It only lasted for a second or so trhen wobbled over, but the kids were really excited. The we went in and talked about eggs and rabbitts and Oestra. Last night we celebrated with chocolate eggs, since the spring rains have started in and it's thundering even now. As the girls left for school, one commented "It's good for the plants!" And I had to smile and say "yes it is!" We are fortunate to live where it is pretty warm and will be in the seventies. The notion of waiting for the ground to thaw, chills me to the bone. I hope it is nicely warm enough for your plants! Bright blessings! Ginger Leigh yardchicken2@yahoo.com

Oh Bugger! I meant to show my kids the egg balancing trick last night Oh well... just six months until the autumn equinox
We had quite a bit of rain yesterday too... but today it's shaping up to be quite lovely! The sun is shining here and there through tiny patches of brilliantly blue sky!

LOL- that's showing off! Mine tried to cast off his coat. Rather too early for that here. Gloriously sunny today too- you suddenly realise how much you miss a blue sky when you've been under cloud cover for so long.

I agree Lauren. I love that feeling when I close my eyes and look toward the sun.... I can feel the healing rays penetrating me and warming me, even it it's still a wee bit chilly outside.

We had snow and cold cold weather on the Equinox, but by Wednesday it started to warm and today my crocus and hyacinth are showing their colors. The other day I saw a robin so big she MUST have been ready to lay eggs. we have a magpie nest and a robins nest in view of the front yard
I love Spring

Yesterday I took my kids to the park and I actually got sunburned! It was just so amazingly beautiful, and I never got hot... didn't even think about it UGH!
Fiona, your garden sounds wonderful! How lucky to have seen the robin! We have an abundance of sparrows, crows, mockingbirds, and a hawk or two that show themselves. They are all enjoying the spring weather I think!

Back to the regular Welsh drizzle today & rain came in through my bathroom ceiling last night, so feeling a bit sorry for myself I think it's time to emigrate! I fancy a place where you risk sunburn in March

Oh good heavens Lauren! Rain coming through the bathroom ceiling does not sound good at all!
You are certainly welcome here in southern California. March, while not usually known for sunburns, is certainly a splendid time to visit Disneyland
