Honestly, I love to have a glass of wine. Probably not the best way, but it is like my little reward at the end of the day!

Trevy,

Sounds like a great way to de-stress to me. One day I'd actually like to learn about wine and start a collection.

Thanks for posting.

take care,

Leah

I love to take a walk and concentrate on all of my surroundings. Clearing my mind and hearing the birds sing, noticing the blue sky or the scent of the air is very relaxing.

A glass of wine at the end of the day is nice too!

Chloe, your favorite way to unwind really comes close to my very own! I love to sit on our porch swing and listen to the birds sing and watch the squirrels play and wait for the hummingbirds to feed. The blue sky, scent of spring or summer and the tall green trees bring me so close to feeling new...ah, spring. It is just around the corner!

Long super hot baths... the kind that drain the hot water heater. Also rambling walks with no set destination, preferably near woods or water.

When I've been working really hard on something, most often my first whole day off after completing whatever project it was is spent at home, in flannel pajamas, reading books and drinking tea all day.

I like to go for long drives on the weekend, in the morning when there's no traffic and listen to music in my car...I find it peaceful..

I also find shopping really relaxes me...especially when I find good deals...

or if I have a day off I like to stay home and just relax with a good movie and since I like to bake I find something different to always make...not a regular basis otherwise it can get fattening...lol

MY way is to do research. I get lost in looking up my ancestors. A new unwind is this Bella site. I enjoy reading the posts and seeing others view on things.

In the winter I like to curl up on my couch with a blanket and a book. In the summer I like to golf. No matter what the season a call to my best friend always works!

I like to browse the internet. Particularly this Bella site and my newly discovered favourite -- youtube.com

The videos are very entertaining. Some of them are so professionally done. The people are really talented.

I also enjoy going to coffee shops with an acting book; or maybe some positive, inspirational articles which I've pulled off my email or the web and have a quiet read. I'm not adverse to reading the occasional "Hello" or fashion mag with my cappucino either!

Exercising is fun too! Shopping; or walking around browsing or hanging out at the pub with my hubby are nice as well.

Read, write, and sometimes ecxept boredom. We always seem to be having to do something. I find peace in simply stopping and doing nothing more than that.

I sit quietly, concentrate on my breath and allowing my body to relax, not thinking about anything at all. Just a few moments of this now and then throughout the day really helps with the stress.

I also love to do beadwork so I pick up my latest project and work on it for a while to unwind.

Oh, I wish I could sit "quietly" and NOT think of ANYTHING! That is one gift I have not gotten yet. crazy I have four children and there isn't one second of my day that one (maybe more) needs me for something. I can't even "sneek" into the bathroom. But anyway what you said sounds SO GOOD. To get my mind to stop for a second would be a Blessing too. It just keeps going, kind of like the energizer bunny. wink

Massage is my very very favorite way to unwind... but if I can't do that, I also love to curl up in front of the tv and watch something I recorded - like Lost or Supernatural smile

I love to sit outside, whether permitting, on my porch swing and read. It's so relaxing to listen to the sounds of the outside world.

Facials are a good relaxation treat too. I try to get one once every two months or so depending on funds. I recently tried a foot reflexology treatment and it was very relaxing. I may try this again in the future.

Having a cup of hot choclate or tea or Mocha and sitting down with a good book and a cozy blanket. Or, if the weather is comfortable, sitting outside in my herb garden.

Facials and massages!!! They are great relaxers. It's hard to find the time and the money, but isn't it unfortunate we can't think of it as something we "need" for our health?

What about yoga? It's highly recommended, but rarely works as a relaxer for me. The meditation part of yoga works, but very few classes can pull it off the right way. Especially in gyms, they rarely give yoga the extra time needed for good relaxation afterward.

Strong excerise works wonders for me. If I get those endorphines going I can feel so much better.

Spinning. There is something about the motion of the wheel and the measured hand movements that really relaxes me. And I wind up with yarn too.

Carol, I LOVE your avatar. It's beautiful.

I'm currently taking a yoga class, and the first hour of the class is deep breathing. Actually, the yoga part is minimal LOL! It should be called a breathing class with some yoga stretching. But I love it, and I feel very relaxed afterwards.

Yes, we should be able to just get massages and facials and reflexology when we like... we deserve it!

Thanks Deanna-- I could have also mentioned that painting relaxes me.

I would love to find a yoga class like the one you mentioned. The breathing is what its all about if you want to relax!

So Carol, you painted your avatar picture?? OMG that is so cool! What a gorgeous blend of color.

Do you paint quite a bit?

Speaking of creative endeavors... singing and writing music relaxes me.

Being creative is VERY VERY VERY relaxing too, isn't it!

Yes, the yoga class is great. I love all the deep breathing exercises are so helpful! I can really feel a difference.

The yoga DVD I have has a specific "calming" session which is *very* relaxing smile I like a glass of port and a good book, maybe some soft music on too. I have a very snuggly robe and snuggly socks that my boyfriend got for me. That helps too!

I love to go for walks, go to the lakes edge and watch sun-sets.

But my most favorite way to unwind is to get the wind in my face, on my motorcycle. It's envigorating, charging, uplifting. Riding a motorcycle brings you into the moment. You have to be present. You're mind can't be thinking about problems at home, work or bills. You can't be worrying about the future. You have to be totally in the present moment on a motorcycle and totally aware of your suroundings. The sights, the sounds, the smells of the green earth as you ride through a metro-park all spin a magical atmosphere that brings peace and calm to me.

I do some sudoku and come to Bella Online. I also use my knifty knitter and mindlessly knit scarves or leg warmers. Or I'll go to Starbucks and read my current book with a great cup of coffee.

My favorite way to unwind is to grab a good movie that I like, a good glass of wine and just vegging in front of my big screen TV. It's like being in the theater. No, it is not new, it is an old school big Screen but it works for us.

Or curling up in my husbands arms always does the trick too.

Babyquaker, what a nice picture as you described!!!
It is an absolutely unwind way, im supposed. Most time, i like this way, quiet, peacful, seem only yourself in the beautiful world, never to think else, forgot everything distressed in real life, so amazing...
