Welcome to the MidAtlantic USA forum!

We've had an unseasonably warm winter thus far in the MidAtlantic, but I was hoping to hear from some readers about their favorite winter destinations in the region.

So what are your favorite places to go in the winter?

Thanks,

S. P. Gass

I certainly agree...the weather has been unseasonably warm so unfortunately skiing hasn't been much of an option this winter. I'm hoping this month we do see some snow. If so, Snowshoe, Blue Knob, and Canaan Valley are my favorite spots for skiing.

Yes, it's been definitely "unsnowy" here in New York. My son is grumpy because he wants to ride his snowmobile!

My fave winter destination in the Mid Atlantic is the Adirondacks, whether they have snow or not. In fact, this week I'm heading up to the Ice Carnival in Saranac Lake, which fortunately, goes on no matter what the weather!

Thanks a lot for posting. The Adirondacks are definitely high on my list of places I want to visit, but have not yet been to.

Every year, my wife and I go up to New Hampshire to ski at Bretton Woods. This was the first year conditions were less than ideal (slushy and many of the natural snow trails closed). However, the latest weather reports are calling for a February return-to-winter so let's hope that happens!

Thanks again,

Hi, SP,

Let me know when you decide to visit the Adirondacks - I might be able to offer some helpful info.
