I was impressed with Cody's Aunt and her pleas to Judge Counts. She spoke from her heart and she spoke the truth. I watched Judge Counts eyes and could see the compassion in them. In the kidsincourt forum's we have another one of Cody's Aunts (Sister to Coraliss) and she and her husband said they will raise Cody, even Cody's Step-dad would take Cody in. The one who has impressed me the most was Marilea's dad, who stated he would take Cody into his home. That is wasn't Cody who shot the gun, but Cody's father.
There are so many people who can relate to what Cody has gone through. I am one. No one person, who has been abused, can't say they wouldn't do the same or have thought about it. My own mother was sexually molested from age 4 to 7 by her brother-in-law. It damaged her for life! When that man died, my mother went to his funeral to make sure he was dead.
Yes, Cody stopped the abuse and pain, but Cody did it in such a way, he will have to live with that the rest of his life.
As far as the persecutor goes (I mean prosecutor) she was cody's best defense. If anything, she has opened a plethera of doors to an appeal.

Hey Katy Bug,
Marilea's father really spoke true words of honesty. He said what many are quietly thinking in their thoughts.
He told Judge Counts, that he believed in his heart, that Paul Posey was having sex with his daughter. And, he believed Tryone knew it. He has come to this conclusion from the evidence presented.
When he said, If he would have known this when Paul and Tryone was living he would have killed them himself. I wished I could have been in that courtroom.
That may have not been a politically correct statement. But, that was a Honest and Human one. From a mere man and a father.
He stated, does this make me a murderer or an angry father? It made him a truthful and honest man.
This is a true American Tragedy.
There are MANY abused people, who have gone to the depths of Torture -- they understand what has happened with Cody.
Whether it makes it Right or it makes it Wrong. They understand.
I know quite a few people who have been abused. When their abuser died. They went to the funeral. Only to make sure -- They were dead.

Isn't it amazing that all of these people from across this country has contacted Gary Mitchell in support of Cody? And the persecutor alleged that Mr. Mitchell solicited this support. The woman is grasping at straws. Of course this comes from an abuser, herself. No wonder she has NO compassion for Cody, it would mean she would have to admit she is wrong. What abuser can admit such a thing? None that I know of. They look for any reason to continue the abuse and use it to their advantage.

I look up to Coraliss Clees. She is an amazing person. I love what she said about Cody today. I dont know if she said anything more than what was on the highlights on Court Tv Extra because i was at school. But she is an amazing person to me. My father is just like Marilea's father. My dad already has told me that if someone hurts me he will kill them, probably most of it is because they are our father and fathers are more protective over their daughters but still. I am still amazed of how many people are saying they would take Cody in.

I watched Cody give his plea to Judge Counts. I was impressed with how he admitted he doesn't know how to feel. That was very hard for him to say. It was also good that he stated he want's to improve his life and learn how to deal with his anger and learn how to be a better person. I can tell he wants the abuse to stop with him. How very proud I am of that young man.

same here to Katy_Bug. I think that is really cool that he wants to take fathering classes so when and if he becomes a father we will know how to treat them. I am so nervous now that Judge Counts is going to be sentencing him tomorrow. I probably wont be able to sleep or pay attention to anything tomorrow. I was surprised when Cody came up and thanked everyone that has helped him and everyone who has wrote the letters. I respect him for standing up and saying how he really wants and is going to try to help himself on all different things and how he admitted he is going to have to put forth a lot of effort to make these changes.

Hi Everybody, I won't be able to sleep tonight. I hope he is sentenced as a juvenile. I think that Judge Counts is a fair judge. Earlier during the case, Grisham wanted to show the tapes of Cody's interrogation, but Judge Counts refused. Which was good because Cody was interrogated without a counsler. Cody's family from his mom's side is very supportive of him. I wish I was near NM and could have gone for his support rally. When the verdict was read, Cody cried. I was crying too and thinking that he must be thinking that nobody is ready to listen to him that he was abused. Oh, how it broke my heart. There is a petition online in support for Cody. Everyone, please sign this petition. You can go to Online petition Please sign everyone. Thanks, ARD

Good Morning Everyone!
The Moment Of Truth, will soon arrive for Cody.
Cody has shown more Courage and has accepted more Responsibility, than most adults would have at a time like this.
Cody took the witness stand and faced Sandra Grisham. He answered each question with painstaking honesty and to the best of his ability.
As he closed, his Sentencing Hearing with his Final Remarks they rang through out the courtroom. Everyone heard them, including Sandra Grisham. And, everyone knows in their heart of hearts, that Cody was abused and tortured.
Cody comments, "He doesn't know how to feel or How to express it?"
Well, Paul Posey the Abuser, did his job. The Abuser's job is to Strip you of all Emotion. To rob you of your Laughter, Joy, Tears, Pain, etc. Their job is to make you Numb, Null & Void, and Empty.
The Adults in the News Media have sickened me.
They have stated this fact & asked us to wear it like a badge of honor --
"Every Year 3 Million Children In America Are Abused. But, How Many Kill Their Parents? What Kind Of Message Will We Be Sending?"
Stating those numbers & that fact, is nothing to be proud of. If 3 million children are being abused every year in America we should be ashamed of ourselves. I ask, "What kind of message are we sending to our children?"
The system, the people, the families & others are failing these kids. And, I don't think they are willing to take it anymore.
Let's not put them in the position where they feel the only way out is to pick up a firearm. BUT, that is a rant I can go off into at another time.
Today, is Cody's day. Let's pray, Judge Counts will do the right thing. Even, if he has to do it, then retire his robe.
No matter what the outcome. We still know what we have to do. Fight for the rights of the other forgotten children, who need us.
Isn't this what Cody, said he wanted to do?

Vicki,
When I was growing up there was a family that lived about a mile down the street from us. The little girl was about my age (11 or 12) her big brother was 16, mom and dad. Dad had a horrible temper and was an alcoholic. I knew the little girl was teensy thing and always looked bruised under the eyes, and had bruises on her arms - but at that age didn't really know much about it - until her brother was arrested for murdering his father.
Apparently the father had been beating all three (mom, brother, sister) for a long time, but that night he tried to molest the little girl. The brother stopped him, sister ran out into the woods, and he got beat pretty badly. Long story short - the brother waited until the dad fell asleep (drunk - passed out) took the 12 gauge, and shot him dead.
He was found guilty of murder because they said he killed him in cold blood - not in an act of self-defense, because the father was sleeping. To me (looking back on it as an adult)- that was the only time the poor boy could have done it and been assured his father (oh how loosely I use that term) would not have fought that gun away from him, killed him, and continued to do just as he pleased with the sister and mother.
This poor child, Cody, will never truly be free. He will forever be damaged by what has already been done to and by him. And he was driven to do what he did. i am a firm believer in counseling, but sometimes it comes too late, i hope this is not the case here. I pray there is a loving, compassionate person out there that can find a shred of innocence that has possibly been buried under all of this denial and blankness. But it is going to be a hard road. And if they stick him in a prison where no-one cares, that innocence is going to be forever burned out of him.
Innocence cannot survive our prison system. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Dearest Michelle,
Your words, "This poor child, Cody, will never truly be free." Made my heart bleed with aching tears.
You are one that truly gets it.
Abused people, hopefully heal in some kind of way. We must, we have to -- in order to live.
But, to be ever be totally FREE from it. It's not possible. You can never forget the abuse and torture. You can forgive, so you can move on, but you can't forget.
And, I find it absolutely UNREASONABLE, that others think you should have REMORSE, that you slayed the Villian, the Monster, the Demon, who had tortured and abused you.
When did the Monster, the Demon or the Villian ever have remorse for You?
I pray within the moments and minutes, of this count down, that Judge Counts will do the right thing.
Thank you, so very much for your comments and supporting us in the forum at this time.
Have A Blessed Day, Michelle
