Yep! The Judge is Cody's last bit of hope in this
courtroom process.

Cody was found guilty -

(1) 1st degree murder: Marilea, the stepsister
(2) 2nd degree murder: Tryone, the stepmother
(3) involuntary manslaughter: Delbert Paul, his father
(4) convicted of 4 counts of tampering with evidence

1st degree murder, carries life with parole in 30 years.
2nd degree murder, carries 20 years maximum

Cody broke down as they read the verdict.
The tears, the pain, the hurt, the misery.
Many seen it--alot of people witnessed it.
But, most folks don't know pain like that.
They couldn't even begin to fathom what that child
lived through everyday.

So, that's where it stands right now.
In 30 days or less, there will be a disposition
hearing. I'll keep you abreast.

Today, give your Children a Hug. Tell them that
you love them for no reason. Tell them how smart
they are. Tell them you are happy they were born.
Just, tell them, tell them, tell them. All the things
they need to hear, to feel loved, safe and wanted in
this world.

Have A Beautiful Day!

Hi,

I am new to this forum. Can Cody appeal to Federal Court or any other courts? Can the court appoint him a new lawyer?

I saw the news that they convicted him last night. I couldn't stop crying.

Hi ARD!

And, Welcome to the Forum.

Yes, Cody has the promise of future Appeals to be made.

Hopefully, the Judge will sentence him as a juvenile.
Then, he can be released at the age of twenty-one (21).

If, the Judge will show him this kind of mercy.
There will be no need for an appeal and no need for
a new lawyer.

I've had tears falling from my heart all day today.
I'm stunned. I'm shocked. I'm sad. And, I'm angry.

I'm angry, because there is child abuse in this world.
That's what I'm angry about.

Let me ask you this? You think Cody should get himself
a new attorney? Where do you think Mitchell went wrong?

I'm glad you decided to join us.
I look forward to your response.

Hi Vicki,

To tell you the truth, I have no idea why jury was not convinced when they heard 40 witnesses who said the same thing, that Cody's father abused him. I don't blame Mitchell but just thought may be another lawyer would have used some other tactics in the case and the jury would have been convinced.

Do you think that the Judge will sentence him as a juvenile? I hope he does.

Hey Anuja,

To be completely honest, I never thought it would
go this far. I don't know what the Judge will do.

Mitchell, had better get busy foreal.
This morning on Court TV he stated, that he wanted
to delay sentencing for 90 days, instead of 30 days.

You know when the Jury was in deliberation & requested
the tape of Cody's confession. I got really scared!
He was interrogated without Counsel.

I don't care if you are completely Innocent of
the Crime, that is really a bad idea.

I can say this, I feel the Judge was fair
and he favored Mitchell's side.

When the Judge was deciding who he was going to rule
in favor of--He didn't cave into Grisham's --
Murderer Murderer Cody Posey, type stuff.
He killed 3 innocent people, kind of antics.

But, wasn't this really a painful trial to watch!
Everyone, I have talked to has cried or enraged.

I'm keeping my eyes & ears open.
Let me know what you see & hear.
Just Post your Thoughts/Opinions.

I agree with everyone who has posted in the forum.
I cannot believe Cody was convicted so harshly.

I've been crying too. Everyone was talking about
this at work today. I'm a Supervisor at a Drug & Alcohol
Rehabilitation Center.

I also deal with children who have suffered severe
abuse. What do you say? As someone stated earlier,
let's all pray Cody will be sentenced as a juvenile.
Enough damage has been done.

I'm saddened and deeply troubled by the lack of compassion given to children in society.
Children are not being listened to. They scream out for help and there are few people who care. I hear more sympathy and compassion for women who kill their babies because of post partum depression. A child like Cody who defends himself against his abusers recievs more abuse from the system.
I am sick over this. I don't understand.

Hello Cinders,

And, welcome to the Forum. I am so glad you joined us.

You sound like a person right after my own heart.
I'm with you.

I don't understand it, either.
Children are not being listened to.

Not only is there more compassion given to Women
who kill their babies, but look at all the compassion
given to the women who kill their "abusers."

She's shed in the light as a heroine...she's heroic.

Could you believe, these grown adults saying to the
Nation, as we watched "How come Cody didn't find a way
out of there?"

A boy/a child? In the remote surroundings in which he
lived. He screamed, he yelled, he hollered, he pleaded,
he begged. And no one listened.

And, what is really so sad. Right now,
there is many other Cody Posey situations going on.
And, there are millions of adults standing by watching.

You know what they're saying, "I'm not going to get involved."

I do not condone violence. I do not condone murder.
But, the human mind was not meant for psychological
torture. Nor, the human body made for that type of
abuse.

Let's pray, that Cody will be sentenced as a child.
And, let's pray that he will get the Intensive Therapy
which he so desperately needs.

It's been a pleasure talking to you.
Hope to hear from you again.
So don't be a stranger.

Have A Happy Day!

Hello Vicki,

Thank you for the welcome!!

You are correct, there are many abused children. I have reported abuse before and if I find it again I will report
it again. I want to be be involved when I see a child being abused. I have three kid's, there is no need to abuse a child. Even at a childs most irritating moment I can't see being abusive.

Children are precious gifts from God! They are meant to be loved, cherished, and treasured.

Children are little inexperienced and immature people learning to be adults. If a child is taught that all his actions bring a violent consequence, how can he comprhend the reality of his actions good or bad??

There has to be something that can be done to help these children.

I have been praying for Cody since I first heard of his story. It is my hope that he is sentenced as a child and gets the Intensive Therapy he needs. It's not too late for him. He deserves to know what being loved feel's like.

Take care,

Louisa
