Linked below is a great positive vibe to meditate on, ponder, try to resonate and harmonize with. Because I continue composing positive affirmation musical resolutions.. I may decide "I have created a new music form: Affirmatinas!" And of course maybe not. :tongue1:

The image, no it's not a November day, but hey, through the magic of art (photography, internetworking, rememberances in words, music and songs) I am still in that lovely summer day! he he..

At any rate, this positive vibration simply sings that I am having what I am wanting, and I am wanting what I am having. May it be received with the same energy it is sent out with: balancing and harmonizing the microcosm - and / therefore the macrocosm. Using the "Law of Attraction" to resonate and blend with positive possibilities. As they say in the West Indies: Good vibes mon!

>May we be balanced and in harmony. Amen and Awomen. Ash! And so it is. :colors:

Teo, you are a hoot! I bet the whole room lights up when you walk in. Maybe some of your positive vibes will rub off on some of the negative minded people (wouldn't that be nice!). I am going to play accompaniment (is this a word?) on my piano here in sunny Florida, maybe musical Michelle can do her thing in Georgia and we can spread this message across the U.S. Parthena can play her flute in Oklahoma!

The only problem with us Firefly; its pretty hard to walk around with that piano!

That is the biggest reason I want to learn guitar, so i can have accompaniment (yes it IS a word!) where-ever I am. It gets pretty tricky loading up the baby grand. The keyboard's not too bad, but you still need electricity. A guitar is self contained. You play it. Done.

Now I just have to learn it.

Anyone in GA giving free lessons?

Some electric guitars are very heavy! The important thing here is to focus on the mission..spreading the good vibes..I have a dulcimer and a bowed psaltery. They are easy to play, lightweight and small. I have made a list of instruments for you to consider: harmonica, flute (if Parthena does not want dibs on it), xylophone , a small percussion instrument or a battery operated electric broom on a skateboard. The latter may sound ridiculous but if you were to zoom around spreading the message in the song you would probably end up on the front page and that would certainly get the word out!

The question is; what are you positive about? Just because it feels good at the moment doesn't mean it is good.

I'm positive that it is more FUN and HEALTHY to be POSITIVE than to sit around and think of negative things to post about. SMILES brings out good endorphins which make us feel GOOD...so, we'll spread the message with song... Come on Dave, I'm from Texas, too, I'll bet you can play the haarmonica or kazoo, or something!?!

Hey, I have a dulcimer, too and can play a harmonica so I'll start practicing some upbeat riffs to add to ya'lls accompaniments! hehehe

After all, if I were happy without salvation, it would be as Shakespeare said, " A play of fools, full of sound and fury but signifying nothing." Nero fiddled while Rome burned. many sinners will laugh and sing all the way to hell. That, to me, is sad. That is why I am so serious.

But we are supposed to give praise to the Lord always, and rejoice!

I believe it's in Luke 19 where Jesus gets onto the pharisees (well, when doesn't he?) for wanting to stop people for praising Him. He says, "If these keep silent, then the stones will cry out".

So we are supposed to sing our praises! If we walk around being miserable Christians, then how do we show people the love and joy of Jesus Christ? They should know we have something to CELEBRATE!

I am not miserable. I am joyous for myself and for other Christians. But what is there to have joy about unrepentant sinners who are destined for hell? If I love my neighbor as I love myself how can I watch my neighbor go into damnation with joy? It is my responsibility to spread the good news and lead souls to Christ. Then even the angels in Heaven will rejoice.

how about this....it doesn't matter what one is positive about, the truism for happy-guitar-man is that in that moment, (and perhaps several thereafter), he felt positive, and hell, man, ya can't beat a good moment now and then.....And sure, truth is subjective, but again, hey, is that just coz I said it to be so??

physika,
If truth were subjective then it wouldn't be truth. It would be opinion. Can something exist and not exist at the same time? No. Both cannot be true. One must be true and one must be false. God either exists in reality or He does not exist in reality. He does exist. Regardless of someone's belief or non-belief.

Michelle, you are so funny. Anyway my son and I are teaching ourselves with books ....Mel Bays Modern Guitar Method Grade 1 and if you allready play piano then you will have no problem with the notes. I don't play piano but heard that they are similar note wise. I did buy a video tape but they just went way too fast for me so a book is better. They also have, but I have not seen it, a computer program to learn. Good luck.

Guitar playing is a lot trickier than piano as you've got 6 strings to deal with rather than one keyboard!

I'm self-taught, and found the best way to learn was by having it close at hand so I could noodle around on it whenever the urge took me. Once you feel familiar with it then learning tunes will come easier

A piano has a lot more strings than a guitar.

Well cock-a-doodle-do! Are you a guitarist then davey love? God! If your IQ was any lower you'd need watering, wouldn't you? I think that what divided was trying to explain to you is that with a guitar you have 6 strings, each with a series of individual notes on it (check this bit), whereas a piano has one keyboard with a series of notes that just bang on a connected string. Therefore there's 6 times more combitnations of notes*. Probably. I'm a brilliant guitarist, probably better than Jimmy Hendrix, although I love his work.

* which means...oh just look it up

Yeah, that's kinda what confuses me, LOL

The trumpet & trombone completely blow my mind (no pun intended).

I mean, How do you get all of those notes out of three little knobs and one slide thingy that you just hope winds up in the right space!?!?

I like my piano! One key for one note (well, Ok 2 if you consider sharps and flats - but you know what I mean)

Maybe I'll just take up the drums - that sounds fun, and imagine the stress I can beat out on those things!

No, I'm not a guitarist. I tried to play one once but but the noise was so bad I was invited to join the Sex Pistols! LOL! I was just referring to the number of individual strings. Hadn't really thought of the number of possible notes.

So if everybody wants to be in the band we decided to form after Teo made his post, we have to agree to stick with the message we are intent on spreading. Music is a universal language and perhaps after we have toured the world we can hop in the time machine and go hither and yon. Next stop the universe! I love a band with several guitars. Mine is acoustic and if y'all play electric you will just drown me out, so I will stick with the electric broom. TD4, we can hook you up with some sort of instrument, But...you must focus on the Message of the band, and not deviate one iota or else you will be kicked out. This is said with love in my heart for all of you What shall we name our band? I like Uriah Heep or Led Zepplin but those are already taken.

Oh, I can sing harmony! I can harmonize just about any song - I seem to have a "knack" for it - it's fun. (I drive my husband nuts in the car picking out harmonies for songs playing on the radio, LOL!)

That would be a LOT easier than trying to push my piano around!

Perhaps, but I think God has given my talents in other areas. He has given me a talent for words. I am a published poet. Maybe I could write lyrics.
