Heehee....JM....I like your "Iceman" so much that I went out and bought one that looks alot like him..lol...I posted a pic of him, should come up before too long.

Hey, I have so many that there's always room for one more ! I put up another section in the 10 gallon so he's in there with Neon...and really enjoying all the *SPACE* and *CLEAN* water !....(found him in walmart :rolleyes: ) He settled right in.. <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Can't wait to see him, EMG! Good luck with him! I just have to admit that Iceman is my favorite. His tail fin is still looking kinda stringy. Wish I could get it cleared up. I changed his water yesterday. How frequently do you recommend changing water in a case like this? It doesn't look nasty, like some cases of fin rot I've seen on these guys in the store. His tail is just a little stringy at the end, in spots.

If he's in a 1 gallon...oh, twice a week? You just want to make sure you don't let any nasty bacteria have a chance to multibly very much in his tank. That is when you will see problems with finrot. Finrot is when thier fins are injured either by tearing or by ammonia burn or anything else....if the water isn't clean then the bacteria starts to eat away at the injury, then the fins...yech!

I dont know if i told u about moe and larry is his "buddy".They were given to me by my aunt and the conditions were terrible!!! The water was like mud/poop and my god it smelled like it too I gagged.After I put them in 1 gallon bowls and clean water. The smell from their bowl (btw was a 1/2 gallon for the two of them GRRRRRRRRRR)OMG the smell was like [censored] (putting it nicely)it stayed in my kitchen for 2 hrs or so.The reason for the name moe and larry was cuz i had a curly so it just worked out !(who passed a few weeks ago)Then after I got them i went crazy for bettas more so and now I have 14 <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> )) and thanks for letting me know Emg <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I can't believe his fins are in such good shape. The rest of the betta on the shelf were just awful! One of them I set on the nearby sink since he was DEAD! Another was so covered in fungus he would soon follow I'm sure. I set that one on the sink too. I could cry sometimes..if I was prone to such emotionalism....

What a cutie! You were lucky to find him. He does look nice! I, too, get very sad when I see some of these guys in the stores. I want them all!
