Cellulite is not a disease, or a condition. It's as natural to some people as is their eye color! Cellulite is the dimpled, slightly rippled appearance that results from the way muscle, fat and connective tissue is distributed, in your skin. Before the late seventies, no one had ever heard the term 'cellulite', nor had anyone considered this natural skin effect either unusual, or unattractive. Yet in a society becoming ever more obsessed with achieving some sort of ridiculous, impossible standard of body excellence, this completely natural look has now been dubbed, 'unacceptable'. Following in the wake of this hype, have come the product/procedure marketers, all willing and able to cash-in, with a seemingly never-ending supply of miracle creams, lotions, dietary supplements, and cosmetic procedures, all advertised to be the answer to perfectly toned, completely smooth, skin.

There is absolutely no proven method of getting rid of cellulite. There are no pills, no creams, no dietary supplements, that have proven effective. Not even liposuction has proven beneficial, and may actually result in making the appearance of the ripples worse. A completely realistic approach to minimizing the appearance of cellulite, is a healthy diet, and regular exercise, which will keep the muscles toned. Instead of dashing out to purchase the latest 'Miracle' anti-cellulite cream, I suggest a good, brisk, thirty minute walk.

I'd also like to state here that REAL people should not be expected to, or made to feel as though, they should look like the enhanced, air-brushed images seen in magazines. The individual look of every human body is 'different', which should not be confused with 'not good enough'!
