Really? Well, I haven't found anything sucky about being childfree, rather quite the opposite, so please, do tell what are the sucky and unglamorous things about being childfree?

I agree its quite the oppisite really. There are 10 positives for remaining childfree for every positive you can think of for having children.

Right. And what exactly are the positives to having a child, anyway? Oh, wait! Here in the US, Uncle Sam has invented Earned Income Credit and tax deductions! The more kids you have when you file taxes, the more you get back. That's about it. LOL

Right on I hear you loud and clear. We have the same going on here in Australia.
There are alot of people having them for the wrong reasons. There are so many breeders here and its so unfair that the govermant keeps giving them hanout after handout.

There are so many welfare [bleep!] sponging off the goverments but what can you do?...The goverment here gives people 5k for every kid they spit out - if thats not a bribe for people to have kids I dont know what is.

I don't know how much 5K in Australian currency is in US dollars, but it sounds like a nice chunk of change. If I were undecided about having kids and living in Australia, I think that might push me over the edge to burf a few babies. LOL

I hesitate to get involved in this type of argument because it can get nasty quick, but Im very opinionated and also very neutral in my views lol I see nothing wrong with people being child free and enjoying it (I was for 4 years of my marriage) and now on the otherside of the coin as a mom i also see the joy in being a parent (even though theres a ton of frustration at times), but i think its disrespectful to try and tell one side or the other that only your way is the right way. I wouldnt dare be judgemental coming onto these "CF" boards, because its a big decision either to have kids or not to have kids and if you're happier without then cool. I'll sit here trolling the boards being envious (in a very lighthearted and laughing way) at the fact that the disposable income i have is what i have been calling diapers lol Enjoy your time as CF's and don't get mad at people who try to bash your lifestyle, you're living it and happy and thats all that counts as long as you're not hurting anyone

...admire us for it?!....I certainly would like to know some of these people. My mom and my sister are the only two that don't challenge my decision. It would be nice to know someone else that does not challenge my decision and say stupid statements like "you'll change your mind".

Well, I am going to now have faith I will meet some additional open minded people. My friends don't call me selfish like my aunt, but they certainly feel that I will change my mind because no woman on this earth can really NOT want children.
It is not a big deal to me, I don't even think about how I am going against norms. It is just a choice to me that we all have to make.
