Is anyone else having a problem getting the instant graemlins to work? They used to, suddenly, when I click on them, they will not appear in my post in the strategic spots I need them to. This first started a couple of weeks ago and I do not know if it is something I have done. I miss them! Especially the one with the toothy grin. Thankx if anyone knows a solution.

If you hover over the gremelin you will see code as in :fish (a colon mark before and not after to not make it post) when you post or preview you should be able to view. make sure you use the : tags before and after.

Thank you. I will check it out. They were working just fine and then one day would not anymore. The : are there, before and after. I will try it again. Well, I tried it and they still will not work!

They haven't been working for me for a while, but I have gotten so used to using the HTML format that I had kind of forgotten about it.

I'll e-mail Jeanne and see if she knows what's up.

Someone already mentioned holding your browser over the image you want so you can see what to type in. Well if you want to do the same with italics, underline, bold, etc; look up at the top of the page where you post and you'll see underlined UBBCODE in your posts. and that will tell you how to do everything in the meantime.

Did you type in the code. This is what you must do. Hover over the icon you want to see the code and then type in the same code in your post . It then should have worked.

To use the UBB code which is not working and you state to look at top of post (????) Where in FAQ as nothing is explained there. In an actual post to be entered ? The gremlins I can get but nothing works to the right of them nor Font color. Either it is turned off or is broken. Can you please walk me thru what you did to underline. Thanks

When you are on the page where you are typing your reply; look just above your user name. In a somewhat cream colored (thin) box you will see

Quote:
Fill out the form below to post a message on the forum. HTML is disabled. UBBCode is enabled, so you may use UBBCode in your posts.

If you click on the underlined UBB Code that will give you an entire list of things to do.

Use brackets []around a word to turn on and off a function.
Like this .
[]word[/] (the slash mark turns the function off.
Then you put different letters or words inside the brackets to tell it what to do. (If I try to show you exactly it will turn the function on)
i - italics
b -bold
u - underline
quote - quote box
color:red - gives your words whatever color (I think green has a # assigned though, i know you can use the words blue & purple. To end, you only have to type /color.

so it would be bracket color:purple bracket WORD bracket /color bracket that would change only "WORD" purple.

Does that make sense?

If not, send me an e-mail, and I'll demonstrate in an area where it won't automatically turn my demo into a command!

Well that explains it. If I click on any of the UBB Code I do not get a list. The words when any are clicked do not do anything nor is there any list as you mentioned for me to see code to use. Nothing for Font Color also.

Do I have to use the code listed on the above text that is underlined in my reply just above where it says username UBBCODE in your posts. That brings me to the FAQ for UBBcode. and then physically type it in. That is so none productive. Whay have these on and have to go around the block to use. Not very user friendly posting. So technically the UBB is not on <img src="/images/graemlins/wall.gif" alt="" />

All of the shortcuts used to work fine until just recently. The web-site owner is aware of the problem and said it should be fixed at the next upgrade.

So it's just a temporary inconvenience. Look at it as an opportunity to expand your web building skills! <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

{I do apologize that it's not working right now. I know it is inconvenient, but they are trying to get it fixed. Until all of you guys posted - I figured i was just doing something wrong!}

Well thank you both for the info. I will have to tackle this stuff tomorrow. I am in the middle of an experiment; I have just eaten two different types of cheese and am getting Sleepy. (Or is it from cutting the grass?) I am off to beddyby to have a dream (probably about the snake I saw while cutting the grass) but I will go over your answers tomorrow and experiment with things. <img src="/images/graemlins/beamedup.gif" alt="" />

rdywenur! You are totally right! I typed in <img src="/images/graemlins/beamedup.gif" alt="" /> and it worked. Before, all I had to do was click on the graemlin and it appeared where it was supposed to. Then something changed...but they are back, thanks to you.<img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
