Are you kidding me?
This show is a joke and it disgusts me that the character Kat perpetuates all the bimboticness of a tattooed, attention-loving princess. I had the opportunity to see an interview done by TLC. I find it quite amusing that she brings up the fact that she plays the piano almost at every opportunity. Is this supposed to place her in a more intellectual light?
Again, the same thing pertaining to one of the other tattooists (a male whom I can't remember the name of). According to him, most of his tattoos don't mean anything. "They just look pretty."
Two more cases in point -
The perpetuate the stereotype that tattooed people are punks, wild, crazy, with little to no logical thought or capability in forming cohesive sentences.
Also, what's up with the skinny Japanese guy being ragged on all the time? How does this impact the Asian American community? The politics of the show is entirely and surprisingly disgusting (in my opinion) and serves to, again, as we have time and time again through history, force viewers to create the white male as superior.
Give me a break.
I remember back to a time when I was actually LEARNING something on the ridiculous channel that has the cheek to call itself "The Learning Channel". It is a flat out joke with its peppered serials of home redecorations and stereotypical tattooists.
Sickening.
