Are you kidding me?

This show is a joke and it disgusts me that the character Kat perpetuates all the bimboticness of a tattooed, attention-loving princess. I had the opportunity to see an interview done by TLC. I find it quite amusing that she brings up the fact that she plays the piano almost at every opportunity. Is this supposed to place her in a more intellectual light?

Again, the same thing pertaining to one of the other tattooists (a male whom I can't remember the name of). According to him, most of his tattoos don't mean anything. "They just look pretty."

Two more cases in point -
The perpetuate the stereotype that tattooed people are punks, wild, crazy, with little to no logical thought or capability in forming cohesive sentences.

Also, what's up with the skinny Japanese guy being ragged on all the time? How does this impact the Asian American community? The politics of the show is entirely and surprisingly disgusting (in my opinion) and serves to, again, as we have time and time again through history, force viewers to create the white male as superior.

Give me a break.

I remember back to a time when I was actually LEARNING something on the ridiculous channel that has the cheek to call itself "The Learning Channel". It is a flat out joke with its peppered serials of home redecorations and stereotypical tattooists.

Sickening.

Check out the websites for your favorite Miami Ink artists - Kat and Chris Garver also work out of a Hollywood studio (True Tattoo), and I know that Kat also does the Tattoo Expo circuit.

It's cool that we can all have and express our opinions, and that most TVs come with a remote control.....

@HannahQ - "Bimboticness" is not a word. I have seen the show many times, and Kat does not come across as an "attention loving princess" as you put it. Also, what is wrong with Kat mentioning that she plays the piano?

I do think that getting tattoos because they are "pretty" is something that no one should do, but you really shouldn't hold it against someone, and it doesn't make them "attention loving."

Yogi getting ragged on is something that happens in most every tattoo shop. There is always an element of fun.

As far as the show promoting a stereo-type that tattooed people cannot form cohesive sentences, maybe you should check your post before you submit it to the internet. Your post is scattered with typos and words that do not exist.

Give me a break.

I love Miami Ink. I've only watch Inked once and I thought it was terrible. They were stressing over some fashion show which didn't really have anything to do w/ tattoos that I could see. I did wonder if Miami Ink was a real shop because I tried to find the address and couldn't. I'm going to Miami in November and I wanted to go there and get a tat by Ami even if just a small one. A friend of mine's dad did get a tat by Kat and has a pic of the two of them together.
