Normally I don't laugh out loud when reading, but this book is hilarious. My boyfriend thought I was experiencing post-daughter's wedding hysteria! Maybe I was, but this was just the remedy I needed (well, since a trip to Cancun is out of the question.) I haven't read her before, but I will definitely read more.

Her descriptions of former really bad boyfriends, house-hunting, taking her grandmother shopping, doing taxes, being an aunt, and dealing with her pets strikes a chord. Notaro puts our everyday goofiness in print and one can only hope we handle it with half the humor she does.

So, if the heat and the bills and all the people who depend on you are dancing on your one last nerve, grab this book and declare a personal holiday. It's like valium in print.
