Did anyone else watch this? I really liked it except for the fact that they had Kyra Sedgwick doing a horrible southern accent. I hope to see more of it in the future. Connie

It was good, I think it funny how she wins a person over in each episode! What you think of next week?

This is off the TNT website:

Brenda Johnson is a Southern CIA-trained detective who becomes deputy police chief over a newly formed L.A. homicide team. Her abrasive ways often rub male colleagues the wrong way; they also resent that she shot to the top without paying dues on the L.A. beat. But they can't deny that Brenda knows her stuff. When it comes to obtaining confessions that lead to courtroom convictions, she's a "closer."

I love how she is winning people over and am looking forward to next weeks episode and her maybe having a relationship with Fritz.

I really like the show, but hate the accent. She goes in and out of the accent. It is bad. I like the show though, but my husband makes fun of it (the accent) the whole time.

I watched. I didn't feel like she and Fritz were "dating" though...maybe there will be more to this in the future. Connie

I agree the accent is a tad much. However maybe down the road she will lose it.

As far as Fritz goes, I could see them dating, but work would get in the way a lot! They seem to be really close friends from way back.

Yep, a "real" relationship would definately mess up a working relationship, esp. if they break up. Connie

I thought it was good...hubby thought the son was dead and the father was the shooter. I was surprised that he killed him.

I don't think this weeks episode was as good as some of the ones I had seen before. Anyone else disappointed?

I think last night's episode was the best yet! I wish they would have told what happened to the guy that tried to rape her...was he charged with anything. Also, what about the kid that accidentally killed the girl? What did they charge him with?

I am not sure, because they charge the ex bf for it since he places the add and then left the key...

I got my best friend to watch it this week and now she is hooked as well. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I really like The Closer. It just has something about it. You know, her southern accent changes from time to time but I like the storylines and the characters.

I only watched the one episode that had to do with autism and wrote an article that it would be on and posted on the autism forum my thoughts on the segment.

I just saw an article in a magazine while at the library - forget which one but did not know she is married to Kevin Bacon.

I did not like the accent either.

I didn't know she was married to Kevin Bacon either. I didn't care for the episode with the autistic kid.

I really liked the ending to this weeks episode...especially when the spoiled brat boy was yelling for his mom

Hi All!

I know I'm jumping into this conversation a little late... almost three years after the last post... but I when I saw this forum, I had to add myself as one of the people who love this show. I love everything about it... The character development, the writing, the themes they tackle, Brenda's accent (oops>>> I know that there are lots who don't like it, but I happen to be someone who loves it!)>>> Everything! I definitely think that they are going for a different target audience than the major networks go for... You don't see Brenda Lee (Kyra Sedgwick) always wearing a full face of makeup, her stilettos are for her special occasions, and she relaxes at home in "real pajamas">>> not sexy negligees! (Also, I love the added touch of seeing her want to eat any type of chocolate in the privacy of her office.)

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to add my .02 to the conversation. I love "The Closer," too. She is definitely an eccentric character, but she loves her job and her detectives. I'm a big fan of a lot of the shows on TNT--Saving Grace, Raising the Bar, and I'm a Law & Order junky, so my TV is usually tuned in to that channel. Did anybody watch the season finale of "The Closer?" Do you think Sanchez will be back next season?

*****SPOILER ALERT FOR 2008 "THE CLOSER" FINALE*****

Jenee', I sure hope Sanchez comes back! I was trying to imagine the show getting rid of one of the detectives, and when I thought about it... I definitely didn't come up with Sanchez as being the one they could write out. I enjoy ALL of the detectives, and hope that those three gun shot wounds to his chest don't mean that the actor is leaving the show.

I also enjoy Saving Grace a whole lot. Have you tried Damages with Glenn Close. I missed the show when it was on last season, but got a hold of the DVDs... After watching the first episode, I wasn't sure about it... I'm certainly glad I gave it more of a chance... I am now a Damages fan.

It's odd... The shows I watch are now from cable channels... I wonder what that says about the major networks? (Or does that say something about me!?)

The current episode of the Closer is about a serial rapist. There was an interesting part of it. A witness and a lawyer (for the rapist) are in the room ready to look at the lineup. Both are actively looking at the lineup when Brenda Lee asks the lawyer if the lineup is OK.

What if the lawyer says no, he wants different people in the lineup? Then clearly the witness knows that whoever doesn't change is the bad guy smile

I enjoyed the latest issue of the Closer with Fritz's sister on it. She was really annoying, and it made for good drama!
