Michelle,
I hope we'll hear from you after you've had your surgery. It sounds like quite a lot to go through, but hopefully well worth it.
About those saggy underarms, I have the same problem. I exercise regularly and my upper arms get a workout (not as strong as yours!) but no matter how much I focus on the triceps, I'm still left with a big turkey wattle under each arm. I've always been thin, and my overweight mom has no such problem, which hardly seems fair!! She says my great grandmother and aunts had lots of upper arm flesh, so I guess it's genetic.
Please let's hear from you on how things turn out!!

So, tummy tucks have been on my mind lately. I'm in week 39 week of my pregnancy and I'm stretched so tight it feels like my belly is going to pop! I've put 35 pounds onto a 5'5" frame, and it's practically all belly.
Lucky for me, no stretch marks. But who am I kidding? At 46 years old, this tummy isn't going to "snap back" into shape.
Any women out there who gave birth after age 40? Any tummy stories to share?

Lynne, if you don't have any stretch marks - you may be surprised. Just moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
Besides, you are almost there!
Update on the gastric bypass: It's been 5 weeks, and I'm down 31 lbs! I had to use a safety pin on my pants the other day. YEA!

Hi Michelle,
Moisturize, huh? Glad you mentioned it, I'm usually as dry as a lizard!!
Congratulations on your success! You were worried about your skin not "bouncing back" from the weight loss. So far, how are things looking?
I know your goal is to lose 100 to 120 pounds. I'm thinking, if your weight loss is gradual, maybe your skin will have an easier time adapting to your shrinking tummy. Much different from child birth, where the stretched skin is instantly released.
How much have you lost per week since the surgery? It seems like you're going at a healthy pace. I knew a woman who had pypass surgery and became malnourished because her diet was so sparse and of such poor quality. She was hospitalized a few times, and really struggled to regain her health.

I was about two steps away from getting my nose done. What stopped me? I believe it was having the proper man knock some sense into me. Love story there is that we met through webdatedotcom and our relationship grew from there. So anyway, here is my now significant other who makes me feel beautiful with the way i am. Besides, being under a blade will forever freak me out!
