Deep Throat, where are you now that we
REALLY need you?

I think "globalism" is beginning to fall apart. With France and
the Netherlands rejecting the loss of sovereignty to the EU---
suddenly they realized what they were losing (their identities)---
they pulled out while they still could. The EU was about to
accomplish what Hitler had failed to achieve, a united Europe
dominated by the strongest member, Germany. The French, detesting
Bush, also suddenly realized that without their cooperation, Bush
could not pull it off. The only thing remaining is for the Germans
to pull out and Britain will be isolated as the "little Buddy" of an
abandoned Bush and his NeoConRats.

The collapse of the Euro has been predicted for some
time. You can't just throw a bunch of diverse countries into a
blender and homogenize them with a single currency.
The problems created are greater than those intended to be solved,
and I'm not so sure that that was the goal anyway. Powerful interests
in all these countries have their own agendas and the separate
populations were apparently sold a bill of goods. Time to wake up
and smell the coffee. In order for anyone to win others had to lose.

Get a load of the article I'm including here by Al Martin (ala "Al Martin
Raw") predicting dire circumstances. Makes you wonder what to do
next.

Carl. I think many of us knew this a long time ago and now, the Europeans are beginning to think the same thing. Not only Hitler but Napolean as well. Another experiment that may well fail.

Hi,
I think that globalism cannot 'fall apart' unless the world econony falls apart: globalism is not artificially (i.e ideologically) constructed entity. Rather a stage of development of profit-oriented economy. No conspiracy here.

I believe that the EU has nothing in common with 'what Hitler had failed to achieve' as Hitler didn't try
to 'unite' Europe - he, and the Germans, have subjugated Europe in cooperation with Stalin and Russia, in a way resembling a barbrian attack on civilized world.

And most of all I object the statement that

'Powerful interests
in all these countries have their own agendas and the separate
populations were apparently sold a bill of goods. Time to wake up
and smell the coffee. In order for anyone to win others had to lose.'

which I tend to see as a credo of a conspirational theory follower :-) Sorry about that. The last statemnet of the credo seems taken out live of some history of the fight between social classes manual, or races, or cultures, whatever.

Well, at least all this is how I see it. Critisism is welcomed :-)

communists have been predicting the imminent collapse of capitalism over and over again since the 19th century but it hasn't happened yet....

and plenty of people in the USA would dearly love to see the EU collapse too - hence the reason for "news" stories like this appearing over and over again.

when you have a deficit the size of America's and your currency is disappearing down the toilet like the American dollar is, I suppose one way of dealing with that is to keep pretending to yourself that there's a crisis in Europe....

I have never understood the lust for globalism when alliances when needed have worked for centuries. It is an unnatural think to remove any groups personal identity. I am sure you are familiar with the still very Dutch community of Prospect Park. They pose no harm to anyone. Why the drive to homogenize cultures and eliminate these innocuous identities?
I also don't understand the Neo-con focus when the Dems have also supported the EU and Clinton supported their admitting Turkey in 1999.
http://www.hri.org/news/usa/std/1999/99-12-10.std.html
Economies are nothing to make rash moves with as any economics 101 student learns and one does not need a crystal ball to see this would not work. It appears that all have participated in what is destined to fail not just Neo-Cons, but I can understand why Robertson as a Republican holds them more responsible.
We all must take personal responsibility for the debt we create and take action to pay it down. Being forewarned it being forearmed.

Guys,

I do not want EU to die out but this is the first experiment of this kind and I am not sure it will survive,

Raytan and all people who read Polish, please read this very interesting article in Polish:

Hi All,
I think that one cannnot deny that there's a crisis in EU, but EU's crisis or even 'the end of social Europe' does not necessarily mean 'the end of EU'. I am, for instance, wholehearteadly all FOR European Union, and at the same time I am against EU of the recently rejected 'constitution'. I think the recent crisis was inevitable - after EU spreading over so great area. I hope we'll succesfully overcome the crisis and the 'postcrisis' EU will be even more fascinating and more efficient than before.

I must say that in my opinion the homogenization of cultures in the so called Western societies nowadays is taking place independently from the existance of states, union of states etc. And the last thing one can say about the EU is that EU removes any groups personal identity. In fact the EU acts the opposite - it strenghtens
the identity of various groups of peoples.
I also do think that the first experiment ever of the "EU kind" happened in Central and Eastern Europe, lasted some 400 years and ended up some 250 years ago - it was called Rzeczpospolita Obojga Narodow The second experiment of the "EU kind" happened in trhe North America and lasts till now THe third one is the EU itself
