[color:"purple"] Don't forget, March is Women's History Month. Is there a womn is history or in the present who has had an influence on your life? What would you say to her if you could talk to her? I would like to meet my favorite author Sark. I have an article in the archives of book reviews for her many inspirational books. When I found her books, my life changed. I learned to start excepting myself for who and what I am and to never give up on my creativity and my dreams.

Two women from my past that I wish I could speak to just one more time are my grandmothers. I would love to thank them one more time for the impact they had on my life. My Grandma Joan taught me to be humble, a protector, and how to let the past go no matter how much the things in the past hurt me. My Grandma Betty taught me politeness even when the person in front of me was furious, how to make someone feel like they were the most important thing in your life, and that I didn't need a man in my life to be a woman and mother. She raised 5 kids by herself because my grandfather was an alcoholic. Granted my oldest aunt was 7 when my oldest uncle was born and 14 when my dad was born, she did have some help from my aunts and uncles, but she somehow managed to keep it all together and still show each of her kids love and understanding. Ok I have to stop now before I cry <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Hi! I don't visit here often but I just had to respond to this one.

I've been blessed with a lot of strong women in my life. My mother is the number one influence in my life, not just as a woman but as a person as well. I don't know where I'd be without her. I can relate to your crying as it's been hard on me to watch her the last few months as she fights cancer. She's amazing, even when the doctor says no way she will live out the next week, she kicks and fights her way back. I get all teary eyed when I hear that song on the radio, "In my daughter's eyes".

I'd love to get more time to sit with my Simo, the title of the woman who oversees my Martial Arts family. And I'd love to have met the woman that taught her. Talk about inner beauty shining through. She just radiates such positive energy that even when I'm totally stressed out and upset, I immediately pickup and feel like the world is right again around her. I'm told her teacher was the same way and I would love to just talk with them both.

Thanks for posting Sifu. I wish I could be close to my mother that way. THat's why I was thankful to have both of my grandma's in my life before they passed away. Life is definately a precious thing and we should hold on to those that we love and hold dear.

That is simple My mother. She is the strongest woman I have ever met. Though she may not of saw her self as that. I saw her as a beautiful strong woman and I can only pray to be half the woman she was.

Definitely my mom. There are a ton of other influential women in history though: Susan B. Anthony, Rosa Parks, Mother Theresa...

Yes Rosa Parks was definately someone else that came to mind not only was she black but a woman at that. Back then women were still thought of as being submissive to men and not saying anything. For her to have the courage and strength to finally say enough is enough is very commendable!
