Here is a new course to serve as an ongoing resource in sewing for 18" dolls.

oh, maybe I've found the resource I've been looking for!
I make dolls from my own pattern, a rather long doll with a dancer's shape. I have requests from people to buy these dolls but I just hate to make the clothes!
My doll is about 14 inches high, and has wide hips and shoulders and a narrow waist- dancer's legs. Her exaggerated shape makes things a little harder.. like fitting pants, for instance. She can wear a mean mermaid tail, however!
I'll post a picture of her soon.

I have to make 19th century dolls for a school project. The doll that I want to make is 18in tall. I bought a mold for the head but I have no idea how to make the body. And know that I can't use a sewing machine and I have to be careful with what materials I use. I also need help on making the cloths. If there is anything that you know of that colud help me out please let me know. The project is due Nov. 9th and I'm running out of time. thank you.

Alisha, how long ago was this project assigned?
I hate to tell you- but i can't think of any way to help you make this doll in time. I can't make a doll in less than a month, myself.

Alisha, you may coincidentally be in luck - today I will post a photo of an 18 inch doll and a pattern for her dress that I am working on, made by the Theodor Recknagel company in Thuringia, Germany, about 1893. Her head mold is 86
