I lived in Seattle 10 years ago, and even then they were talking about the problems with the runoff. I'm glad they're taking steps to lessen the problem!

sorry i can't help with ur question Marian, but i was just wondering about this 'run-off' problem!

i live in Englnad and we have no restrictions on washing cars and stuf (except in summer ay high droughts or sumthing) so i do not know what u mean exactly. is this sumthing to do with the water and the soap that u wash ur cars with running into the rivers??! is this a pollution problem?

Runoff is definitely a pollution problem. Most of the wasted water from the Las Vegas area runs into the Las Vegas Wash, which then travels to Lake Mead, where our drinking water comes from. The city council has even put "Runs to Lake Mead" signs on most storm drains, so people don't dump their car oil and other toxins into it.
