A squirrel got on my window feeder today for the first time to my knowledge. I got up real close and started to take pictures. I had to laugh at his smug expression. I also took some deer pics last night, but they are a little dark. Take a look: http://pages.ivillage.com/karenliny/karenswildlife/

"Do you MIND?!! I'm trying to have a snack here!!! Now, SCRAM!!!"

Karen, What great pictures! You really have a lot of wildlife around your house. The squirrels, birds and deer are absolutely adorable! I have a variety of wildlife in my backyard also. I feed the birds and other animals too. I love watching them eat and run around and play. Nature is so beautiful! Thank you for the pictures and I look forward to seeing more of them. Sincerely, moose

Karen, Wow!!!!!!!!! Definitely an award winning photo! And they came out so clear, too! Great shot!
Owllady, I see one of your interests is rabbits. Do you own any, or, like me, have tons of them on your property?
Moose! Great name! Now all we need is a member named Squirrel and we'd have Rocky and Bullwinkle, LOL!! Watching nature is one of my biggest pleasures. Can't wait to get to learn more about all the wildlife around your neck of the woods!

Hey Karen!
OK.....it seems as though Angel & Flappy had a little conference and thought your title should have been "fantastic" squirrel pics instead of "funny" (although they thought photos of themselves would be better). I have to agree, those were some fantastic close ups! I loved the other pics as well. Thanks so much for sharing!
Babe & Angel (who thinks Marain should have typed in her name a few more times on that post LOL!)

Wow Karen the squirrel is so cute, is it tame? do they make friends with you if they get to know you? we don't have squirrels here so I've never seen a real one. We do have deer in Aotearoa (NZ) but I have never seen one near a house unless it is a farmed deer. Thanks for showing the pictures, they made my day.
xxx, Ruth

Wow, Karen...that is one photogenic squirrel and you sure did get some great shots of him. I also enjoyed your recent deer shots which are also quite good. You certainly took advantage of the opportunity to capture your wildlife up close!!!

Ruth?! NO squirrels in New Zealand? Did I hear that right????? Um, I seem to have a *few* (million) extra hanging around here I'd be very willing to *share*.... They are every bit as cute as Karen's and just as smart!
I can have their bags packed at a moment's notice, and I will get onto the arrangements with the passport office right away....just say the word.....

Marian, I do own rabbits, or should I say, I am their slave, along with my fiance. We have 5 and they all live in the house, except for occasional supervised outings in the fenced-in pen.
And where did you get that gorgeous little owl picture?? I love it--it's a Great Grey isn't it??

Owllady, are your rabbits dwarf or are they full size?? I can't imagine 5 full size ones roaming the house, especially when they get that playful "run around the house at full speed" urge!
The owl picture is one I took when I was at the Toronto Zoo recently. Here's the full size version (I don't know what kind he is...I have to learn to take notes when I go to the zoo  ) I've also done some owl drawings, which I also included just for fun. Enjoy!) -Marian

Great drawings! You are super talented! By the way, I have one rabbit, regular not dwarf. We don't know if it is a male or a female. She is white with a light gray tinge on her back. We really don't want to know the sex of the rabbit; because she is pretty so we say that she is a girl. My daughter named her a girl's name. She is an indoor rabbit. Sometimes we let her run around on the screened in back porch and throughout the house for exercise. Enjoy your buns! sincerely, moose

Yes Shelley you heard right we don't have any squirrels (or bears, lions, snakes, crocs. etc) but my dh Ron says that he thinks we could arrange a swap, your squirrels for about 7 million possums what do you think? xxx, Ruth (who thinks you'd just love the possums  )

Those are wonderful squirrel photos. I like the deer ones too. Is that a "reflection" of you in the window on one of the deer photos?
