Did anyone cathch the American Idol last night?

The people that amaze me are the one's who truly belive they can sing. And willing to argue with the judges about it. What about the girl Mary who was hearing voices? And the guy who a recovering alcoholic who just discovered he could sing(not)?

I have a hard time watching the first shows. I feel so bad for these people. I don't understand why they don't know they are bad. The only thing I can think of is that some person that really loves them, like a deaf grandma, has always told them how good they can sing. I felt bad for the guy that forgot the words. His voice was bad, but to not even get to try would have been worse. This part of the show is my family's fav. part though.

I had a great time last night watching it with my husband. I kept picking the horrible singers and telling my husband if he "is mean to me he will end up with a second wife like ____". By the time, we got to Mary Roach he was begging me to stop. Hahahaha!

What about the mom who wanted to sing so she sold her rings and brought her daughter and husband to the try out. That little girl was so cute but they really should have put shoes on her before they brought her on tv and let her run around the room.

I felt so sad about the guy who forgot the words. They really gave him a few chances and he just failed. They don't give many chances usually.

What about the guy who lied and said he was related to Toni Braxton and then sang like .... well, I don't know. LOL

I love this show. Makes me laugh all the time.
And then I worry about weapons smuggled in the auditions when some of those people go crazy.

Toni Braxton's cousin was crazy. It's official Toni got most of the talent genes in the family because it skipped him. Then he got an attitude and tried to diss all the judges.


The guys that just go in and sing seem to do the best. The one's who try to do to much and dance to stan out are usually sent packing.

I bet you 25 cents that that "cousin" isn't related to her. Did you see his face when he said that? It was as if he knew he shouldn't say it but honestly thought it would help him.

I'm looking forward to next week's auditions. It's just too funny to miss.

Do you think Simon and Paula are really fighting are do you think it's ringed to add more excitement for the show for ratings? I've been wondering

Definitely not really fighting. You'd get annoyed with people sitting next to them 8-10 hours a day for a few weeks straight so I am sure she was just annoyed and then the cameras caught it and decided to blow it out of proportion.

Did y'all read about that lanky dude from NOrlins that was trying to play off the "crunk" music? He got arrested after that....he was bonded out on $11,000. bond and was able to SEE the show for himself!!!

My favorite moment of last week's show was when the girl I think she was 16 auditioned and Simon and the creww told her she had potential but she was not ready for American Idol and to come back and audition later. Her version of the story was totally different. She told her mom he said she had the most talent out of everyone there. She was too young or she'd be the next idol. It was too funny.

You mean the girl that lied? She was hilarious. What about the girl last night who went shopping and then figured out she was supposed to be auditioning. Luckily she made it through after rushing back.

That twin sounded awful. The song he chose was supposed to be about heart break. He sounded like he was singing the grocery list... no feelings at all. And he had a week to prepare!

The girl who went shopping??? How do you forget that you're suppose to audition and geton the wrong bus.

I wanted to throw something at the girl on tonight's show who simply could not understand why everyone was so mean to her just because she couldn't remember the words. Remember she has talent.

Like "Hello, I have talent." This was the second time they gave her a chance.

I'm so glad the single mom decided to go home then. Not that I have any thing about single mothers trying to compete. It's just that I didn't want to listen to her whine for weeks on end.

I didn't think that the single mom would have lasted too much longer. She wasn't that good I thought. Not compared to some of the others. After it went off last night, I turned it by CNBC and they had Idol rejects. They let them talk and show their tape. Then they let them sing again. These people are sad. How many times will you as the host would say "Make a fool of yourself on TV"? You stink, move on!

Paula, You are hilarious. It's very true though. I can't see her staying without talking about how she can't stay away from her son. Meanwhile last year's winner was away from her daughter the whole time and I never once heard her complaining.

You're right, Fantasia knew she had a great shot for herself and her daughter. She also knew she had to play the game.

Well, I cannot sing and I will NEVER try out for AI! I have enough opportunties in life to embarras myself.

I haven't tuned into the show regularly all season but Toni Braxton's cousin and a few other were definitely interesting... great for when you need a laugh!

Wow....I simply cannot believe that Constantine got voted off last night instead of Scott or Anthony...I was totally surprised.

I had planned to buy the compliation CD when it comes out, but now I definately will because I want to be able to hear his song (along with the others I wish were not voted off - NADIA - again)

My bet is that Carrie and Bo are the final.

Well, for me it was either Scott or Constantine. I didn't think either gave a great performance. I think that the voting system is a bit messed up. It doesn't seem fair, but somehow it is. Just too many good vocalists get tossed out before the show really starts.

I like Bo. I would actually buy his CD. Carrie has a nice voice, but I am not big into country music and I think that is what she will sing after Idol. I don't like Anthony because he is too boy band like for me. That is why he is still there. All the little girls like him and they are the ones calling in on their cell phones.

Leandra Jackson, the one that sang the Star Spangled Banner, is my twin daughters' caregiver at their daycare. They were so excited when they saw her on tv. One of the tv stations here in Cleveland brought in a team of local experts in their field to prepare her for her appearance on the show. Her voice was still wayyyyy off, but she did so much better than I expected.

That is cool. She seems like a really nice person.

I'm a little disappointed with American Idol. Some of the people I thought should have stayed longer were voted off quicker than others. Not too sure if I will watch next season. Then again, once they start doing those auditions next January and I see how scary some people sing, I get addicted.

It's run it's course for us. We like the first few episodes where we get to see everyone audition but even that is getting hard to watch. They keep flipping back and forth amongst singers.

I thought this year's contestants were entertaining. I have been seeing Carrie and Bo all over the place on tv. I really like Bo's single.

Haven't watched that show in years. I first watched it just to see what it was all about after a friend could not stop talking about it then only watched the auditions except in the season two where I watched because of Clay Aiken. I think I stopped watching before Simon left. This season I caught the audition of Lazaro Arbos when it was on the homepage of Youtube and was blown away so I will be checking how he does (bootcamp episodes must be here by now) on Youtube (cant stand Nicki Minaj).
