I firmly believe that a name should suit it's owner so I carefully chose my children's names.

Kimberly Rachel: The name Kimberly always makes me think of blonde, vibrant, social cheerleaders. Rachel is a soft, old fashioned and feminine name to me. My Kimi is blonde, social and independent. While not at all the conventional form of feminine, she is all girl. She also can be level headed and mature when it strikes her to be.

Morgan Eric: I love strong roguish names for boys/men. My son has a wide streak of independence. His passion and even his loyalty combined with his other traits make for a unique blend of little person.

Ashilyn Rebekah: My hope for a feminine little girl drove me to look at elegant and feminine names for our new baby. May she be the things her name conjures up for me: feminine, passionate, loyal, and filled with love.

You all have great names!! And, Melissa, don't ever think your name is just ordinary! It's no more ordinary than mine, Michele, lol. That's what great about having kids ...and pets, lol, you can use names that are fascinating then...then when your kids are teens some day, they can gripe about, "What was my parents thinking?" LOL I was actually close to being a Melissa but I had rebellious grandparents, lol. I personally like the French version of Melissa, Melissande (the 'e' is silent). I guess no matter how you say it, though, it's still Melissa, huh, lol... <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

And, to you, XLadyRogue! Congratulations! What a beautiful name for your little blessing. Don't you think though that your children might have learned something from there wonderful mother and not just the destiny their name beared? hehehe I know what you're saying though. A lot of people, including myself, will love a name and then we find out it means something like 'defiant one' and we tend to not like it anymore, lol. Don't want to be jinxed I guess. I wasn't too big on what a name meant when I was naming my kids though, at least the first 3. They still tease me, or at least the girls still do for being names after a boomerang and a rabbit patch, lol.

Hello, I'm new to this board and find it quiet but informative, thanks for letting me in....lol
My daughter is going to marry a wonderful guy with a name that either of us really like but, we where thinking up names for her kids once she decides to have them. Yes,I said that, have kids of her own.It gets better his parents and his parents,parents are all twins.
So,Angelina-Angela are beautiful names for girl/s and for the boy/s it would be Angelo-Anthony.....Not bad being we are Italian but he is Irish with freckles soooooo, she said how about Daniella-Angelina and Daniel-Dominic..

hello chele,

i didn't expect the children to live up to the name, rather i wanted the name to suit the child. we carefully sifted through names, combos and variations until i was certain the name felt right for the baby i carried at the time. our names are our one line summation of who we are, better to have a good name representing our essences rather than the wrong one.


as for ashilyn, i do feel i projected my desire for certain characteristics into the name. i hope this was not a mistake.

Those are beautiful names. I am partial to Angelina, Daniella, and Dominic. I have always loved Angelina.

Italian with freckles, eh? hehehe...hm? Does he have blue eyes too, hehehe...Look forward to beautiful little bambinos with freckles. Freckles make the kid!

I'm sure with your motherly, loving guidance, your child will turn out to be a compassionate, caring human being. Although I think you did a wonderful job of picking a name, I think the rest is entirely up to you...matter of fact, I know it, otherwise with all the Damion's in the world, well...well...you get my meaning, lol. And, wait, everyone, before I start getting emails about the name of Damion, please don't, I like the name a lot...it was just the first name I thought of and the name was only used in a movie, okay?

I love the sound of Damian. BUT it does bring certain characteristics to mind, doesn't it?

My 2 boys have "ordinary" names, William and Tommy, however, my daughter is Maliyah Eliza.

I liked Maliyah (Ma-Lee-a) because I'm Maria and so she's like my Jr. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> and Eliza because that was my Grandmother's name! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have two wonderful boys..Devin Anthony and Jack Aaron...both of their names fit them so good and have great meaning to me..Devin, my sister named him because his father and I could not agree on a name and his middle name Anthony is after my bestfriend in high school...now Jack is named after his father's, I guess like fater and his middle name Aaron is after my brother (who has past). I feel they wear their names so good and they are great little boys.... :love:

My childrens names are (m) David Lamont.
I thought I made up the Lamont part. 'WRONG'
Then (f) Janey Julienne.The Julienne part was
uncommon at the time. Maybe still is. Only ran into one other. But I much preferred Janey with the spelling of y than ie. Then (m)Bradley Derek. No Bradleys in our area and certainly no Dereks.
But sometime afterward they popped up everywhere.
Only most were spelled Derrick.

Now too old to have babies but love names.
I always read the column in the newspaper
of the new births.And a couple of my present day favorites are (m) Remick, Ryker, DeNoah, DeRick,
Garrith.And (f) Nataja and maybe called Taj,
Rose Kincade and could be called Cady Rose.

I like the uncommon but not outlandish enough to
embarrass the kid when s/he gets a little older
especially if there is a lot of teasing about the name.
