Hi,
need some help!

sql="SELECT a.username,a.ModuleID," & _
"b.ModuleName FROM table1 a, table2 b"&_
"WHERE a.moduleID = b.moduleID" & _
"ORDER BY a.username"

rsPlantilla.Open sql

I got an error message:
Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server (0x80040E14)
Line 1: Incorrect syntax near 'a'.
/plantilla/access/userModule.asp, line 32

Thanks,
jhoann

It would appear that you are missing a space between the table alias "b" and the WHERE clause, as well as one between the moduleID and the ORDER BY clause. A quick lblMessage.text = sql or a debug.print sql will show you if you are missing spaces...

Right, always do a

response.write SQL

before you use it to debug it. You should always guarantee your code is doing what you think it is doing with actual write-outs, while you are figuring out what it is doing.

I would also not use SQL as a variable, just in case. It's safer to use SQLTxt for example.

Best-machine.com was fine for us at first - we were with them for almost a year which is the longest we'd stayed with anyone. In general they were good about answering questions so I'm surprised they didn't answer yours. However they were not always prompt in a same-day situation, i.e. when the servers went down. So that is why we left them.

If your questions were "why is my server down", then that should be answered properly. But if your questions were "how do I code this in ASP", that's not really their responsibility. So it all depends on what you were asking them <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

however i think as a good web hosting providers, one should reply to all questions even it is not under their responsibility. They can answer by telling their clients directly. <img src="/images/graemlins/computer.gif" alt="" />
