This is in response to the young high school girl who turned her back on the flag during the singing of the National Anthem,
Do you know what you are doing? Have you never had anyone in your family tree that has served in the military? Do you realize that you are no better than some of those people who would call themselves our enemies?
Obviously, being in high school, you can only see to the end of your own nose. The world is a much bigger place than I'm sure you can commprehend at this time. Hopefully, in time, you will grow to realize exactly what you are doing and will feel the adequate amount of remorse. I'm glad that you feel you can excersize the right to your freedom of expression.
I'm positive you have no idea that the flag represents that and all other freedoms that we as Americans are entitled to. Understand that if you were in some other country you would have been shot on sight for disrespecting your countrymen so beligerently.
One day you will grow up, one day you will develope a sense of patriotism. One day someone you know and love will decide to sacrifice their life for you and everyone else. One day that big world will come crashing down and you will be glad that there were older and wiser Americans around who have protected the rights and freedoms you take for granted now in your ignorance and immaturity.
