I don't mind protective gear in the winter, but in the summer it can get downright nasty!! I always wear a heavy jacket and full-face helmet, but I admit to just wearing jeans sometimes when the weather is really hot. I know I'll regret it if the bike goes down though, jeans shred quite quickly.

What do you guys do? Just hope for the best?

I am wondering the same thing...my husband just got a new bike in april and we are planning a trip to laconia for bike week. it's a few hours from here, and it will be at fast speeds on the highway, but i dont have any chaps yet. any alternatives?

We're going to go shopping this weekend for new pants, maybe they have some cooler varieties out if I wear just shorts or tights underneath. I guess you need something with tiny vents to let air in, but tough so if you skid down the highway they stay intact.

I'll post what we find!

I live in vegas. It's hot here a lot. As stupid as it is I rarely where much protective gear. Usually jean shorts and a t-shirt with helmet. However occasionally i'll wear long jeans.

When riding long distance I will wear more gear of course. But short trips around town and non freeway riding get nothing. (always socks and shoes)

ohw in England its fine to wear leathers all the time really even if it does get 'hot' i don't risk not wearing them, but i do admit to sumtimes not wearing any protection at all coz i had none at certain times

i tend to feel that the wind when ur riding cools u down quite well if it is hot, but as soon as u get off and sit still..then come the sweats hehe! but i just wanna jump bak on as soon as possible anyway
