THE ULTIMATE FOOD AND WINE EXPERIENCE COMES TO DEARBORN

America's Premier Producer of Italian Varietal Wines to Host "Viaggio di Viansa" July 13th in Dearborn

SONOMA, Calif. - June 25, 2002 -Viansa Winery & Italian Marketplace, America's premier producer of Italian varietal wines, is bringing a taste of Tuscany and the charm of its Sonoma winery to the acclaimed Ritz-Carlton, Dearborn on Saturday, July 13th from 6 to 9 p.m.

Deemed "Viaggio di Viansa" for "Travel of Viansa," the Dearborn event is one in a series of wine and food events held in major cities around the country to showcase Viansa's superior wine, food, and hospitality. Each Viaggio event is filled with exciting activities, including vertical wine tastings, wine seminars, barrel samples, plus selections of Viansa's gourmet foods and estate-grown olive oils paired with Viansa wines, as well as special pricing on Viansa wines.

The Dearborn event will feature a unique Viansa Italia Tasting, a wonderful way to learn about all of our exclusive Viansa vini da premia (Viansa's premium Italian varietals) with our Viansa wine specialists. The wine tasting will include Viansa's 1998 (Thalia) Sangiovese, 2000 Prindelo, 2000 Arneis, 2000 (Pacomio) Aleatico, 1999 (Augusto) Barbera, 1999 La Nobbia, 1999/1998 (Piccolo) Sangiovese and 2000 (Vittoria) Pinot Grigio. In addition to the tasting, attendees will enjoy hand selected barrel samples of the not-yet-released vintage 2000 Ossidiana, Viansa's flagship blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Because Viansa's wines are not available in stores or restaurants, this is a unique opportunity for Dearborn connoisseurs to taste the wines.

In addition to the wines, Viansa's estate olive oils will be showcased. The California Olive Oil Council has rated Viansa Estate Olive Oil as extra virgin - their highest classification. Viansa olive oils are a true Tuscan experience, as most of the more than 1,000 olive trees in the Viansa orchard have been imported from Italy.

To specially complement the wines, Alex Garza executive chef of The Ritz-Carlton has developed an array of hors d'oeuvres and antipasti using Viansa's olive oils and exclusive line of Cal-Ital gourmet food products.

Members of the Sebastiani family will also be on hand to assist with the tastings and answer questions regarding the wines, olive oils and food and wine pairings. A fourth-generation wine family, the Sebastiani's have Italian wine and food in their blood.

"Viaggio di Viansa is a unique concept we've pioneered to bring the tastes of Tuscany to select cities throughout the U.S.," says Sam Sebastiani, co-founder of Viansa. "We're excited to be able to bring the Viansa tradition of winemaking and fine Tuscan-style food to the wine and food lovers in the midwest."

Viansa has held Viaggio events in Chicago, Houston, New York, Boston, Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Scottsdale, Charlotte and, most recently, in Atlanta. After Dearborn, the tour continues with Chicago and New Orleans (September), New York, Boston and Washington, DC (October), Dallas and Miami (November), and Las Vegas (December), concluding with Hawaii in January 2003.

Viaggio di Viansa is open to the public and Viansa Tuscan Club members. To secure advance reservations, call 1-800-995-4740 or visit the Viansa website at www.viansa.com Tickets for the reception are $60 for Viansa Tuscan Club members and $70 for guests. If space allows, tickets will be available at the door the day of the event.

I'll do that! I'm looking forward to being with people who enjoy wine on a "large scale."
