I am a 19-year-old LDS convert and the only member of the church in my immediate family. I recently got my limited-use Temple recommend and can now go do baptisms for the dead. I have recieved many urgent promptings from the Holy Ghost to baptize my father, who died when my mother was pregnant with me. I would like to do this on Saturday (May 1st), which will be my first time in the Temple. I need to know what info I need on my father first.

You need proof of his death. Check with your ward family history person and they should be able to get you the necessary forms to submit his information for temple work.

I am very recently new to LDS, what do you mean by baptizing your dad who is already passed? How and why do you do that?
