Patricia has a wonderful article on her site about pondering-taking time out to just think about spiritual things. How do you find time to ponder? I get my best pondering done when I'm cleaning. No one comes near me or interrupts for fear I'll put them to work!

Be sure to check out Patricia's suggestions for perfect pondering! Pondering-More Than Meditation

One of my favorite ideas to ponder on is how blessed I am to have such a special friend in California!

That's a great article. One great point it brings up is how much music can affect your mood. If you play sad and depressing music, it tends to make you sad and depressed! If you play loud, angry music, it encourages you to be loud and angry. So it's sort of a never-ending cycle. If you want to be happy and calm, it makes sense to play happy, calming music.

It always amazes me to learn just how much of our world is self-created. Two people can be in the exact same situation, and one person can be sad and annoyed, while the other can be content and happy. It all depends on how you view things.

Patricia, just another way we're alike, except that I'm pondering the joys of my Kentucky friend. And sometimes I ponder how to reorganize the map so that Kentucky and California aren't so far away!

And Lisa, that's a good thought about creating our own environment. I've noticed also that my attitude really has an impact on the rest of the family. When people walk into the living room and I smile, everyone else smiles too. If I start in complaining or nagging...the family is in a bad mood. I try to set up the living room so it reflects the mood I want my family to have when they are there. After all, my pondering is more effective if I try to be positive during it.

That's so true, so your attitude that you have then affects others around you, and ripples outward!

So one person might say "my family is always cranky" but if you analyze it, that person might always choose to be discontented with what they have, and then the family might just be reacting to that constant discontent.

Another person in that exact same situation might choose to be content with what they have, and the family would be content being around the person, and an entirely different atmosphere would result!

It's not that you can *make* someone else be happy or unhappy. But say I was always grouchy and cranky. Undoubtedly my boyfriend would be grouchy, having such a nasty girlfriend
