Are they out there? If so where are you? lol.
I know one from the office, but that covers about it... In general I wonder why there aren't many women in the IT business (Meaning LAN/WAN admins, Programmers etc)?

Exactly. Why ask for a woman programmer, if you can't handle one.

Edit: Anyways, what do u use for programming? What languege? I just started out with VB.Net and right now trying to get some stuff down on ADO.Net and probably will move on later with XML and ASP.Net - makes a nice line and sounds all like fun. I'm not all that great with it, but it's sure fun to learn (Except for ADO.Net which right now is a drag)

I have a female friend(well. actually I have more than One female friend) with a master's in DP and a sister-in-law.They both work with female programmers and they program
different jobs/different needs/ different programs...why the query?

My brothers girlfriend is a female programmer so answer is yes they are out there.

I know a lot of female programmers.. I do programming sometimes..

I am a female Java programmer. I used to work with three other women programmers. Now I have changed jobs and I am the only programmer..period. I realize we are the minority but we are definitely there.
