We have IE5 on our computer. Every single time we go onto the net or open a new window, we have to turn off the content advisor. Somehow, it keeps turning itself back on, and to the strictest level (which means I can't get into Bella otherwise.) I get an error message saying to check the advisor for missing files, but it of course doesn't bother to say how. Any ideas? This sort of defeats the point of the advisor, since in order for the kids to use the computer, I had to put in a password they knew and teach them how to turn it off.

I will need to do a little research on this one ... it sounds terribly annoying. I will try to get you an answer in a day or two.

Here is one thing that might be causing the problem.

After you enable Content Advisor, sites that are not rated are also blocked. To change this setting, click the Users can see sites that have no rating option on the General tab in the Content Advisor dialog box.

Let me know if that works ... in the mean time I am still researching for you.

It didn't work permanantly. Somehow it resets itself every time we disconnect from the internet or open a new window. Makes no sense to me! The warning says to check for missing items, but I can't find anything missing. I've used this thing for years without difficulty, so something must have been corrupted. I tried reinstalling Explorer, but that didn't change anything. Anyway, I appreciate your help.

Oh Chris, I didn't mean for you to take a lot of time on this. I really appreciate all you've done. Upgrading is probably a good idea. I have a talent for getting the craziest computer problems! I get things no one has ever heard of and the computer shops insist that my problems are impossible to have! So don't feel bad about not being able to solve it. I really do appreciate your efforts though.
