Boy, I'd like to know, too! eek Unfortunately, I missed the 1st two episodes, but thought I'd watch it last night, hoping we wouldn't be lost by missing thos episodes. TV Guide really raves about it, and Matt Roush gave it a 10.

Well, now we know about the Dr and the old man...the other big story we need to know is the girl who was a convict. Hmmm...maybe they'll tell us this week

I love the show. Especially the characters and how we learn a new secret about one of them each week. The one about the man inthe wheelchair is priceless. I'm dying to know the story behind the asian couple. Arranged marriage? Hmm. My favourite character? Matthew Fox. He's still Charlie to me, just more mature looking. And more sexy if that's possible. lovers I wouldn't mind being trapped on a deserted island with him.

Oh. I forgot to mention. The show has a faint resemblance to "Land Before Time" or something like that. Especially the part about climbing the mountain and listening to the French voice from 16 years ago play over and over.

love, Love, LOVE this show...cannot wait to see what unravels here..they are now down to 46 live(supposedly)people here...and Locke(the bald wheelchair guy who keeps rescuing people) is also on West Wing as a military commander of some sort.

BTW: The network(ABC?) has been re-showing the current week episode on the following Sunday night...

OH wow, if she murders him that will throw EVERYTHING out of whack! HEE! They wont know what to do with her.

Ok, I have to ask about the dog? If the dog belonged to the boy, why didnt HE come back to the boy, why was he hiding in the bush like some sort of spy?

I knew when Locke left him his father was going to lead him to water. He probably fell out in the air when they were falling then the coffin reclosed. This show just works. I love how everything ties in. The characters are awesome. Even the bad ones.

But what if Locke's father is alive on the island...Afterall, the old man(what is his name??) said that the island is magical and so he wouldn't say anything is crazy....hmmm...

I agree with your guess though Moe This show really keeps me on my toes though...I can't wait to see what happens tonight.

You mean Kate's crime? I think she killed an abusive lover. Now she's afraid to commit to Jack lovers hence hiding on the beach instead of following him to the water.

Cant people take turns watching on teh beach or walking to get water?

If Kate did kill someone she was framed!

OMG. Was that awesome when Kate ran to Jack. It's sooo sweet. Everyone knows they are an item except them.

I also noticed we've seen background info all of them except Sawyer and Sahid. I'm dying to learn more about Sawyer's life before the crash.

Charlie was great this week. Totally another side to his acting. He's definitely no Merry here. He kind of scared me a bit this week.

That was just what the dr needed when Kate ran into his arms hugging him! The scene was so touching. I couldn't believe it when Lock handed the drugs back to him......he suprised me by tossing them in. And when Lock told him he was proud.... you could just see some pride spark in his eyes. It didn't show who hit Sayid. At first I thought it was Sawyer.... but he lit the other fire cracker. He wouldn't have had time to knock him out and light it. I can't wait for the next episode!!!!!

I think it's whoever was on the island before they landed...er crashed. I knew Charlie was going to through it into the fire. My husband was laughing at me. I saw the stick coming to hit Sahid and I screamed, "Look Out!". Scared the dog and everything.
I can't wait until next week. I saw an awesome picture of Jack (Matthew Fox) in People magazine today. He's lean between two big rocks in the water. Ripped jeans, white shirt and some kind of tooth necklace around his neck. He's such a hotty.

I wonder if it was Locke who hit Sayid? I think Locke likes his new-found power...both in his legs and in his personal influence on the island.

I don't think Locke was close enough. He was closer to the other camp and always seemed to be around for Charlie. I agree about his new found power. I wonder if he left the island if he'd still be able to walk.

Ok. After last night's episode I resind my last statement that I didn't think Locke did it. What's with encouraging Sahid to have a conflict with Sawyer. This guy flips back and forth with me. Sometimes I think he's cool and nights like last night oooohh soooo creepy. It was good to finally get some detail into Sawyer's background. Next weeks previews look equally exciting.

It looks to me like Sayid has gone on a walk about and been captured by someone with long hair..like the French woman; maybe?

Sawyer is a bad boy but a good man is much more attractive to me...and he appears to be screwier than Locke; which is NOT a good thing!

That movie... flight of the phoenix.... that they advertized during the commercials looks like its going to be a good movie.

I thought Charlie was a goner too. I was actually quite shocked. I bet Charlie has been infected with something now. He's going to be all weirded out. I keep thinking back to the fortune teller who kept saying she had to stay with her baby, if she stayed with her baby everything would be ok. The baby is due any day now isn't it? Still think their aliens.

OMG, what an episode!

The only reason I knew that Charlie wasn't a goner was because I read in TV Guide that fans love Dom Monaghan...so he won't be the one offed this season. (They mentioned that a main character will die this season.) Note to self: think twice before you read spoilers! Still, it was very emotional the way they drew it out. I could not believe Charlie was hanging there!! eek

eek I was a wreck when I thought Charlie died. I like him. I used to watch an English mystery show where he was a regular.

OK -- Who can tell me what happened last week? I got home just in time to see Ethan take Charlie and the pregnant girl off and to hear Saaid tell Jack that they weren't alone.
Why were Charlie and the girl in the woods? What else happened?

Lynne, Charlie and Clare were in the woods because Jack ticked Clare off. Clare claimed that someone tried to attack her during the night and harm her baby. Jack thought it was pregnancy stress, and offered her a sedative. She got angry, and packed up to go to the beach. Charlie then ran after her.

Also, Hurley began taking a census and eventually asked Saywer for the plane's manifest. Sawyer (surprisingly) handed it over quite nicely. Hurley then realized that someone was on the island with them...but was NOT on the manifest. Turns out that it was the guy who kidnapped Clare and Charlie.

According to what I saw on local TV; the show this passed week was the last show for awhile; the phrase "season finale" was actually used and 'Alias"( by the same writer) is supposed to start in this time slot in January. It must be part of the plot to get network TV in line to compete with cable which has shows starting and stopping any old time year round...

You're welcome, Lynne.

As far as Jack running after Clare, you have to remember that Clare was about to give birth any moment so he was understandably concerned. Also, at the time, he thought she was under major stress (and thus hallucinating), so he wasn't trying to be a control freak as much as he was trying to help her.

good point, hadn't looked at it that way. Although didn't he say that he should have listened to her more instead of putting it on the stress of her pregnancy?

Roni, there was a promo on tonight that said a new episode of LOST will air in 2 weeks, as well as a new episode of Alias. Looks like we're in store for more edge-of-your-seat action!

Yeppers!! Tomorrow night followed by a two hour "Alias" season opener... I saw Terry O'Quinn (Locke on "Lost") yesterday somewhere on TV doing an interview and he said they are "doing a full season of shows"...I just hope "Alias" is NOT on opposite "West Wing" because I'll miss seeing ituntil re-runs....WW is Always My first choice!

Yeah!! I'm glad there are other Alias fans out there! I started watching Alias at the end of the 2nd/beginning of the third season...and am hooked.

It will be nice to be able to disect the episodes with other Bella Onliners

Hmmm...that's a good question about WW Roni. Just looked it up and it is at the same time...9/8 central...but you could record one show and watch the other...also, tonight's preview is 2hrs, so you could still catch an hour

Well "Lost" was good (no surprise there) Bishop has a thing for pain and that is no lie! I'd hurt him(insert evil chortle here). Kate is a mystery but frankly her suffering is bordering on angst and the French speaking sister-girl has that tied up; although Charlie is not far behind... Now that I consider it there is LOTS of angst on this show...

I tried to watch "Alias" but it did not grab my attention...so it was the new WW and then aimless channel surfing...one of my personal skills!!

Lost was excellent. I was having a melt down on DH cause I couldn't get the satellite to play it. He said I could watch later. That wasn't good enough. Fridays at 8 is when I watch it.

I've watched Alias since it's first episode and I watched it last night. Even though I watched it until the end, I was disappointed. It bordered on ridiculous with the story lines. I'll probably watch one more episode before I side whether I quite. My dissatisfaction may stem from now having more than one channel.

I like the action on Alias, but I was like what?
when they have the sister vowing to kill the person who killed their mother and it was the other girls father?
All I could think was, dang that MOM got AROUND!

Lost was 2 thumbs up. What is up with Kate lying to Jack? And can't you feel the chemestry  between Siyeed and Shannon! I am so glad that Charlie had someone besides Jack or Locke to break down to. I forget her name but I think she is going to be a big help to Charlie. I hope they put this on DVD like other shows... I would love to send this to my Sister in England.

Can't wait for the next episode!

I didn't think the last episode of LOST was that great, actually. I wouldn't mind if either Kate or Shannon is the "regular" that is supposed to get knocked off this season...

I like Sayid. Locke rules, too. Looks like next week's episode will be awesome. Did you see the preview...with Shannon getting snatched up in the air? eek *crosses fingers*

I would totally not miss Shannon if she disappeared. I want Clare back. I actually like Kate and wish her and Jack would quit denying chemistry and kiss already. What's with Locke hitting Boone over the head after he says he wants to tell the others? So I'm thinking space aliens live on this island.

I like Kate, but it has been frustrating waiting so long to learn her story. We're getting more of an idea now.

I like all the characters and will miss any of them who get knocked off. (I think Clair will be back)

I even like Shannon. Isn't there one in every crowd? -- who is so oblivious to reality that she does her nails or sunbathes while people are fighting to survive.

And that's exactly why she should be knocked off, Lynne. Slackers irritate me! LOL

See, Kate is starting to look unbelievable to me. I mean, she has the cajones to orchestrate--and pull off a bank robbery (including getting her chops busted)--but she can't tell Sawyer "Yes, that suitcase is MINE". If she wanted it so bad, why waffle!

I want to see more about the Asian couple...see more of Locke...and find out more about the French woman and her sitch!

Locke is a wackadoodle of that there is little doubt...Charlie said "he will save us all". Remember early on Locke appeared to meet up with the monster, live to come back the next show and say he had "seen the heart of the island"...
As for the Shannon and Boone thing...she referred to Boone's mother(the one who inherited all the money which Boone is spending)as "your mother" so hopefully things are not the way they seem...not that it would be a surprise either way on this show!

I don't know how I feel about going through the whole Shannon dying thing and -- still trying to figure out what the 'thing' is. And then finding out it was all a halucination!

Locke must have know about the halucinagenic herbs. It was kind of and Indian rite of passage thing. viking

I think it is some kind of machine - be it space alien or construction of the 'other' people on the island.

I think it was the first episode, when they heard the 'thing' out in the jungle, the black lady (I can't remember her name) said that it sounded like something she knew but couldn't pinpoint. Someone asked her where she was from and she said New York City.

I didn't hear that the first time. I heard it in the recent rerun.

Maybe they are on a space ship( the hatches) that has been on earth so long it has come to look like an island. It affects electrical stuff and compasses when it is communicating with the mother ship and thus we get planes crashing off course.... Plus it has a reallllllllly long extention cord that goes to, uh, Hawaii..yeah, that's it! And where the heck are all the sea birds? :rolling:

If the "thing" is real and it is that BIG; where are it's tracks be they foot prints or treads?
Whew, glad I got all that off my chest...

Go Roni!
I'll have whatever you are drinking, but that is a good explanation for the hatches.

Maybe its an island where they tested the bomb years ago and the only things left on the island are mutated animals

Hey Lynne...not bad on the right of passage thing! When I saw Lock mixing up that stuff, I had a feeling it was some kind of hallucogen. I figured he was going to take Boone on some kind of "vision quest" to get to the root of Boone's demons (i.e., his tie to Shannon. How about Shannon seducing Boone, and then acting like nothing happened the next day?! eek )

I love Locke. So does my husband. He is definitely a "Messianic" figure. I have to wonder: is the "thing" on the island killing indiscriminately? Or does it discriminate according to something? Obviously, Locke looked into its "eyes" (the heart of the island, he called it), and yet he lived.

My husband thinks the hatch is connected to a parallel world (think Sliders).

Remember that cable that was out in the ocean? That Sayid followed to the French lady? I mean, is that an underground/underwater cable? Why didn't Sayid attempt to examine it further...or tell the others about it?

Boy, that would be really whacked if they took Clare to get to her baby...for some kind of alien experimentation or something (if Ethan Rom and whomever are aliens, that is.)

Looks like the Asian couple is madly in love. Maybe out of the reach of the father in law (and the pressure?) they've rekindled their romance? I think her father was a mobster of sorts...

Janet,
Those are some good thoughts about what all the mysteries of the island are. That Boone and Shannon thing was just too weird!
I think Locke is a good guy - in a scary way.
I had a terrible thought that the series may go on for years and we will never know whats really going on. eek

Boy, I hope the writers don't play with us for years, Lynne!

I have a certain amount of faith that the writers aren't "making it up as they go along". At least, I sure hope they aren't! I believe there was an article (TV Guide, maybe?) that mentioned the characters names all meant something. Ethan Rom is an anagram for "other man". My husband theorized weeks ago that Kate was an anagram for "take" and she was probably a thief of some sort. By golly, he was right!

I've been wondering if John Locke is an allusion to the poet (I think that was his name) but I've not looked into it or anything.

I hope the writers start throwing us some bones soon...and that they're not ridiculous. I remember a fantastic show (at least, it started out that way) called Nowhere Man--starring Bruce Greenwood. They got a little ridiculous towards the end, and it was cancelled without all the mysteries being explained. That's one reason I usually don't get sucked into a series...I've been burned too many times! (I tend to like offbeat stuff...)

Ok it has been decades BUT I know John Locke was an author back in the early 19th century( I think) who wrote philosophy that involved men( but of course) making decisions under hardship and evolving...

I'll do a Google. I have been wrong before...BUT I still married him...

Hi Mindy,

Thanks for asking. I've been going to the chiropractor several times a week, plus doing exercises, applying heat, trying to stay off the computer (*cough*) etc. He was actually able to put in some vertebrae last night, and I felt about 90%. However, later that night, I twisted my back. Argggh! Now, it hurts almost as much as it did a few days ago...but not nearly as bad as it was a few weeks back.

More rest, I guess...and less computer time. (And lots of Ibuprofen and Ben Gay!)

Looking forward to tonights, episode, too!

HAHAHA! You silly chiropractor, you! :rolling:

I've been going to chiros since I was around 12 or so. Maybe younger. I used to get leg cramps at night, and my parents finally took my to see their chiropractor. My pelvis was tilted, and after that adjustment, the leg cramps left. (I suffered with them for years...especially at night.)

So what about tonight's episode? OMG, did you see Claire?! I wonder if she's without her baby? I hope her and Charlie hook up.

I'm glad Walt's Dad had the begeezus scared out of him. Maybe now he'll treat his son with respect...and let him hang with Locke (who makes a much better father!)

Man, last night's episode was awesome, although I really hate the way it ended... I want to know what happened to Clare.
Take it easy with your back Janet, let it heal completely. I had to go see a chiropractor when I had my car accident a few years back, did a great job. My neck never aches so that's a good thing.

I don't think she has her baby. All I kept thinking about last night was her pyschic (?sp)'s warning to stay with her baby and he'll turn out alright. I'm glad we finally saw some of Michael's background. What's with the child being a bit weird. Almost seemed like he was the cause for the plane crash when Brian said bad things always happen when he's around.

The Spanish comic Walt was reading had a floating island a polar bear...he was reading about that bird for a report when he was ignored and that same kind of bird flew into the window..Brian said he "wasn't right" or "weird" or something like that...

There is an old "Twilight Zone" show starring Billy Mumy from"Lost in Space" fame about a little boy that makes things happen to people when he is unhappy with them...It was on Sci-Fi channel over Xmas.

If I remember the first episode correctly, it didn't show inside the plane before it crashed a whole lot. I only remember seeing Jack talking to a lady in the plane. It's been a while though. Would be interesting to see it again though to see if it shows Walt.

My husband noticed the comic correlation early on.

The newest episode of TV Guide had a reader write in theorizing that Ethan Rom may be Claire's grown up child trying to prevent himself from being born. eek

A writer also said that it's likely someone will get whacked this season...someone we're invested in.

I'll say this: both my husband and myself agree: if Locke gets whacked, we'll stop watching the show. He's mesmerizing and 90% of the reason we watch the show anymore.

I can't believe they would take Locke out of the show. He's too important. Boone could go. He's starting to act like a groupy or gang member.

I knew Clair would be back but I was surprised that she just wandered in on her own and so soon.

Well, thank you for noticing...Where do the women get razors to shave while the guys are getting hairy as monkies? Does no one wear glasses?

The Locke guy(Terry O'something)has been on "West Wing" on NBC this year too. I have no clue what that means but there it is....What's her name(Boone's sister) would not be much of a loss. She could ride her Wahmulance right off into the sunset... :rolling:

Yep, last night was a rerun...I'm so anxious to find out what happened to Claire as well!! And like some have already been saying...the island very well might be an alien ship...especially after seeing Walt's comic book...I almost cried a few times in the last episode...

I know there aren't many Alias watchers out there, but just in case anyone saw it...I thought last night was interesting...almost desperate housewivesish...and there was an interesting twist to the Irina storyline...

Good to know it was a rerun. I turned to my son and said "Why doesn't he--forgot the character's name--know about the polar bear? It was attacking his son last week."

Ok..Charlie, we know, shot Ethan. Clair still has not popped. The Korean guy knows his wife speaks English(and so does everybody else). Did anyone else notice the "big guy" was on the TV in Korea in a commercial when they had that couples flashback? The kid burned his Dad's raft(no one knows) because he likes it on the island. Sayid and Boone's sister are a couple now....mmmm, new show wednesday...

I saw Hurley on the TV screen!! I know why, too, because TV Guide previewed next week's episode (which should explain why Hurley was on TV)...

I didn't see it (my eyes weren't that quick) but I know that it happened and the reason behind it too! I read lots of spoilers regularly (thank you eonline) because my weekly fix of the show is not enough... I always am left wanting more.

I did not see Hurley. All of their lives seem to be connected in some way though so it's not surprising. I first noticed it when Sawyer and Doc passed one another very briefly in one of Sawyer's flashbacks about being carted through a police station.

(Locke knows about the little firestarter.)

So what did everyone think of last night's episode? LOST was good...I was really surprised by Hurley's story...and then the end when Charlie wouldn't believe him was actually kind of funny...so what do we think that fort in the middle of the jungle is?

I missed the previews for next week, does it look interesting? Did anyone watch Alias afterwards? That was a good episode as well!!

Next week is a re-run of the Ethan kidnaps Clair and Charlie episode.

Those numbers, whew...who knew numbers could be so scary? They were on the lid to the underground bunker...this show needs some really creepy music..no wait! Hurley's batteries are dead and that appeared to be the source of all that music because when is batteries died(last week) the music stopped...great show but ya gotta pay attention!

I don't watch Alias.

My guess is that Hurley got some new batteries for his music player...

What's weird is that the hatch in the ground was just that...but now there's that piece of metal with the numbers on it. Has Locke and Boone been excavating, I wonder?

And why was Hurley in the Psych ward in the first place? What a great story line...

To be continued... LOL.

I enjoyed learning more about about Hurley. He's a cool character.

So anybody try the numbers? hehe

LOL - trying to tempt fate are we? Remember those numbers are dangerous!

I like Hurley too... I get to love each character more once I get their backstory -- except for Michael.

Why not Michael? I kind of feel sorry for him. He's wife ditches him for a rich doctor and refuses to let him know his son. That's got to make a person a bit cranky. He's not at the top of list of faves. The characters are really interesting though.

Anybody know who the french woman is? She looks familiar to me.

The next new show is March 30th...Locke is starts to have some physical difficulties and Saywer is getting excruciating headaches,,

Hurley had worked in the mental hospital and had met the two guys there who had talked about the "numbers". One was dead(I think); it was his wife(missing a leg) that Hurley visited in the middle of nowhere Australia which led to the plane crash for which he blames himself..perhaps with good reason all things considered!

OK, Boone has been squashed in an airplane falling out of a tree. Locke has disappeared after lying about it. Clair has had her baby(a boy). Sayid and Shannon whave gone off playing house while Jack works on Boone.

BTW: Sawyer and Cate were voted sexiest something or other on the TV Guide Channel. Jack was in the top 10 and Boone was voted sexy something on E!TV...not too many details for ya, I hope!

Hi Roni,

How are you?

I've been on my own Discussion Board. (Yeah, we're talking about LOST there, too!)

Can't wait for tomorrow's episode, which is the 2 hour season finale.

I'm glad Boone got offed. Hopefully Shannon is next... (Then it would be a perfect show LOL)
