I prefer to write empowering essays. I am a motivational speaker and writer so, I tend to write in that vein. HOWEVER, occasionally, I get on my high horse and vent!

I like to write childrens stories.
I've thought about compiling a book of stories for children but have no idea at all how to do that and get it published.

I like to write when I need to let off emotions, so my writing ends up with many different tones. I am trying to write a novel, I just don't know if I will ever finish. I also write poetry, though I haven't written a poem in a while.

I like writing how-tos and technical articles, and I also write poetry and vignettes. I'm not very good at writing long fiction pieces. I have a hard time writing dialog that is believable. But, I keep working on it.

Take care,

Susan

Gees...I like to write so many different things that it is easier to just say I like to write.

Kidding aside, I write columns, short fiction, poetry, newsy articles, book reveiws, blogs (yes...those are my venting, fussing and complaining abou tmy day moments!) advertising copy... and oh, yes, did I forget novels.

I have a bit of a problem finishing novels though...one of them is about 1/2 done, with no clue of the ending, and the other is completely written in my head, I just can seem to get it all down. Then I have about 5 more novels wating in my brain...gee, now I'm depressed! LOL

I write out my dreams. Most are Stephen King-esque, so bizarre and surreal that I have to write them down. Since they are dreams, they are choppy and don't flow well. So, I'll try and piece events together with my imagination. I doesn't quite come together in the end. So I give up. I also have an entire novel in my head. Over the past two years, I've managed to get a few "chapters" out of the way but they are scattered all over the house, stuffed in file folder with old gas bills and in 2 or 3 different email accounts. Why is so hard to write? Any advise on how to get over the bumps?

I like to write dialog and short stories. I do lots of how-to stuff as well (which comes from being a tech writer). I get the biggest thrill by putting a new spin on an old topic.

I've written fiction, nonfiction, formal papers like my Master's thesis, and off-the-cuff pieces like my blog on b.com. I've written book and product reviews for mail order and online catalogs, and helped develop a company mission statement. I've been published a few times, mostly in places I would deem alternative press.
