What is serum?

Serum is a faitly new product that has become very popular in the last few years because of the straight hair craze.
I smoothes out frizz, shines and helps to straighten hair especially when used with a flat iron.

Ah, no wonder I haven't heard of it. I use mousse most times, and leave in conditioner, but what I can't live without is hairspray...

Usually I just shampoo and condition without even hair drying afterwards, but I do use hairspray occasionally if I'm going out to dinner and my hair is really frizzy

My hair is high upkeep. Although I checked off gel - so great for control - the only product that I sometimes go without is hairspray.

So far it looks like conditioner and hairspray are the big leaders.
Mousse hasn't recieved any votes at all! obviously my salon clients are not voting

I would like to clarify that by "hair spray" I mean a lavendar water hair spritz.

Isn't mousse only for the curly girls? (So that curls would be separate and didn't frizz up together?) I guess we're all straight-haired or wavy-haired here...

Ice,
No, mousse is very good for straight haired people too! It gives lots of body and hold. It is especially good for fine-hair. The foamy consistancy is easy to distribute through the hair. queen

By the way, the LC Legacy link in my signature is fixed now.

Yeah, but won't I end up with a "caught under the rain" look then? Isn't that essentially for sticking strands of hair together?

Ice! You have been using the WRONG mousse!

Good quality mousse or foam does not look like that. It gives a very natural look with lots of body.

I suppose, if you used the whole bottle on your hair you might not get a good look.

I used some pretty expensive Wella mousse.. but I guess you're right, I did use too much. But what is the look I'm supposed to achieve with mousse? Just bigger body? Or also control? Or strand separation?

You should get body and control with mousse. It can be used to scrunch in curl too.

You can use it for separtion but there are better products for that. - Hair creme, wax, spray wax, etc

Hi All,

The poll didn't give me a chance to check the one thing I can't live without---well, I can, but I don't want to---and that's henna. I use it instead of dye to cover the gray hair.

Second most needed is Nature's Gate Herbal Hair Conditioner. It is so much better than any other conditioner I've ever found and smells so much better, even the next day.

To Hair Health,

Carolyn
