Do you like chocolates? What is your favorite kind?

I love good truffles with liquer, as well as dark chocolates. Hot chocolate, chocolate icing with mini-Hershey-chips in it... I like good chocolate covered pretzels, too. Ghiradelli brownie mix is awesome. (Can you tell I'm craving chocolate? LOL) *Note to self: tell hubby to bring home chocolate on the way home from work today!*

YUM!

What about you?

Chocolate is the perfect medicine for anything that ails you! (or me anyway.)

My favorite chocolate is DeBrands. It is made in the town where I work and is sold worldwide now.
I know the owner - and the one who does all the recipes.

My favorite is dark chocolate/rasberry filled.

LOL! I always say "chocolate will cure what ails ya." No lie!

Awesome!!

I've not heard of that brand, Lynne. I'll have to keep my eyes out. We have some local chocolatiers that are great, too, but seem to do more of the milk chocolate. (But I'll take what I can get!)

Do you like white chocolate?

White chocolate is not one of my favorites. It's too sweet. Dark chocolate and milk chocolate for me,

Godiva. It doesn't matter *what* kind of chocolate it is, as long as there is a wide assortment. I love samplers of chocolate of any kind! Is it true that chocolate is not only an aphrodisiac but a mood elevator?

I love dark chocolate. I find it fascinating that for years people in the US (raised with sweet tooths on Hi-C) would mostly only eat milk chocolate. In fact when Godiva first started selling chocolate here they had to make a sweetened version for our US market to get people to buy it.

But over the years our tastes have "matured" and now Godiva sells us the same richer flavor that they've always sold to the European market. I have a poll on chocolate running on the main BellaOnline site and it's about 50/50 as far as dark/milk!

You know, I've never tried Godiva chocolate but I almost bought it several times. Now that Amazon.com sells it, it's even more tempting! I'll definitely have to try it sometime. Oh! Wait! I did try a small sampler several years ago. Very good as I remember! (All the chocolate tends to blur together... Gosh, I'm a chocolate lush!)

IQ, chocolate contains small amounts of a chemical called phenylethylamine (PEA), which is a mild mood elevator. Its the same chemical that our brain produces when we feel happy or in love.

Btw, did you know that a Harvard University study found that men who ate chocolate lived one year longer than those who didnt? Hmm. Not sure what to make of that! I would expect chocolate to add at least 10 years to the lifespan!

Lisa, there's a glaring omission to the chocolate poll: All.

It's a "cheap" brand called Palmer, but would you believe it so totally blows away Andes? No lie. *pops one in mouth as she types* Best I ever had.

HMMM...
Always looking for a good mint chocolate. I love the mint meltaways at Fanny May.
I'll look for Palmer.

Thats the one chocolate that my husband doesn't steal. He's a purist.

I asked my husband a few minutes ago and he said "it wasn't me". So I'm wondering if maybe my little sticky fingers took one since I had the box laying on the island in the kitchen.

(Btw, I finished the entire box this morning as I was on the boards and posting my newest articles. LOL)

I love all types of chocolate!!!! I love it all except Godiva, isn't that funny? Actually, it's only because I used to manage a Godiva Store. I got so burned out on Godiva that I used to run down to See's on my break and get chocolate there instead. I had to sneak it back into the store.

That doesn't make sense. How can they prove this when people have different life spans?

I guess you'd have to ask the guys at Harvard!

I've seen other studies that talk about life span, too. I don't know how they go about it, though.

Chocolate tastes good, but guess what folks, I'm allergic to it. I used to have a piece of it here and there, but now it gives me BAD acid reflux.

Enjoy a piece or two for me.
