Okay when I was twelve my dad decided to take me to get my ears pierced, then he decided to get his done at the same time. So we get them done, we turn and look at each other.... and we both passed out!!!!!! Anyway we are both terrified of needles, makes you wonder what we were thinking eh?

Jessica,

That has got to be THE best father/daughter piercing story I have ever heard! Many people get a strong "rush" from being pierced and faints aren't unheard of, but the synchronous loss of consciousness is quite unique.

My maternal grandfather passed while I was still very young and never got to see me become the tattooed and pierced adult that I grew up to be. My grandmother told me how he would actually faint at the sight of blood. She'd be making breakfast for my mom and her sisters, calling upstairs to her husband that he was going to be late. When she got no answer she would go to their room and usually find him passed out in the bathroom in the midst of shaving, with a single drop of blood on his chin from having cut himself.

People should never underestimate the endorphin reaction that can follow even the simplest and most common body piercing.

P.S.
I had to check out this topic. Not being fond of needles, I couldn't think of anything funny about a piercing moment!

i know the topic is funny piercing moments but i hav one good and one bad

the funny one is my dad wouldnt let my mum get her ears pierced when they were together so when they spilt my auntie gav her a voucher straight away to go get them done to annoy him hehe

the not so funny one was wen i got my navel piereced i sat down for two minutes and said im fine and walked off to go shopping two minutes later i felt weak and my mum described me as white as a sheet and i sat on the floor in the middle of the shopping centre and my mum said don't faint on me! everyone was staring at me it was so imbarrsing then i locked myself in a toilet as i thought i was gona be sick and my mum kept saying "leigh are you still consious, unlock the door" apart from the pain and not being able to sit for a week i was ok after that

I've heard the one about husbands and wives arguing about pierced ears before. When my mother was a little girl "only gypsies and hookers got their ears pierced!" she was told.

As a young married woman, her new husband (who was of very recent European heritage) said he didn't care about gypsies, but he wasn't buying her anymore "good" earrings as she would always lose one of them. So, some months later, having her wisdom teeth pulled, my mother had her ears pierced by the oral surgeon while she was, in her own words, "numb to the gills."

About sixteen years later, my own oral surgeon would look at my multiple ear piercings and remarks "well, guess you don't need those done while you're out."

It would seem that a brisk business in ear piercing happens while folks are anesthetized, both locally and generally, at the oral surgeons....
