Did you ever hear that Mister Rogers always wore those long sleeve sweaters because he had tattooed arms from being in the military and had to keep them covered all the time? Learn the truth about Mister Rogers and more at Tattoo Urban Legends , now up in the Body Art section. - Rae

Ah well, I think it would have been neat if he had a tattoo. Maybe in his next life he will get one of the owl

I'd love to see a picture of a tattoo of Mr. Rogers. Now that would be something different...

Speaking of urban legends one of the questions in the Sunday paper asked why obituaries for Mr Rogers didn't list his WW2 achievements on Iwo Jima. The response was that Mr Rogers was a teenager in High School during WW2 and therefore didn't have any achievements in that direction I wonder how many urban legends exist about the guy!!

The rumors that he and John Denver were both secret Army snipers seem to abound more than most. That just totally cracks me up.

I guess people are cynical and figure anyone who seems sweet and good must have a "hidden dark side" ...

Due to the popularity of this topic I am resurrecting this post.
The following claims about Mister Rogers are all [color:"brown"]Urban Legends[/color]
1. Children's television show host Fred Rogers hid a violent and criminal past.
2. Fred Rogers served as a sniper or as a Navy Seal during the Vietnam War, with a large number of confirmed kills to his credit.
3. Fred Rogers always wore long-sleeved shirts and sweaters on his show to conceal the tattoos on his arms he obtained while serving in the military.
4. Fred Rogers "flipped the bird" to his young audience during the taping of his final show in December 2000.
