I would have to say that I love most bod breeds but the best dog with the biggest heart has to be our favorite rabbit hunting and bed buddy beagle! We love him to death!

Had a Shih Tzu growing up and adore the breed. Am actually in protracted negotations with the bf about what kind of dog we will get once we can afford a dogwalker during the day.

He grew up with a mixed Cocker spaniel, beagle- his ideal breed is the Jack Russell.

In my attempt to find a compromise dog between flowing hair slightly bigger than purse dog and his I want a dog that will fetch I came up with the Affen pinscher and Brussel Griffith. They look masculine enough, right? Also considering a Cairn terrier or a Scottie?

Well now, the bf has revealed he likes big dogs like labs and Golden Retrievers. Ah, I don't know how we're going to compromise on size from that perspective.

My max size for a dog is 15 lbs. Any suggestions of 15 and under breeds that fetch?

Thanks chinitav93. We really miss Musa's laid back personality. He was a great dog. After a few lessons this summer, we hope to get Boss to behave that good.

I've had two dobermans (one blue and one black)who were both the loves of my life. I did not have their ears docked, however, as I felt that was cruel and unnecessary. I would love to have another dobie, but our household is limited to two dogs and is currently occupied by a cockapoo and a beagle mix. Both of whom are adorable, also! I am just a doggy person!

Wow, this is a tough subject. My first two dogs were Irish Setters, Mike and then Shaughn. They were my buddies growing up and I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for this breed.

I've also had a couple of Elkhound crosses that were very smart and very trainable once you got past their incredible stubborness. They were also loyal to the end and protective without being mean. Great dogs to have with young kids.

Currently I have a Border Collie (house dog but also helps with the sheep) and a St. Bernard. Both of these dogs are rescued. My son has a 1/2 beagle, 1/2 lab... is that a leagle or a blab?

Am I the only one here who is madly in love with chihuahuas?! Buster is the very first doggie of my life -- a 4 1/2 pound short-haired chi. Why on earth I waited 43 years to get a dog is beyond me! <img src="/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

He is my best buddy and my loyal companion.

I always wanted a sheltie. Two years ago my husband got me a Sheltie/Samoyed mix. She is the best dog I ever had. She looks like a small border collie though, but with longer fur. She's black & white with freckles. She has a decidedly feminine personality, sweet as sugar and has the Samoyed smile. If only she would not bark so much, but I have an Amazon parrot who enjoys getting the dog all worked up. She (the bird) yells the dog's name (S'Moya) over and over getting more excited as she goes along. My sister has a cocker spaniel whom I think is adorable but my sister says she has "issues". I had a black lab once and they are the sweetest, friendliest dog you could ever want. When I was growing up we had a Springer spaniel who was unbelievably intellegent and adorable. My brother has a Bull Mastiff who looks scary but is a real marshmallow, he plays with my niece's pug and lets the pug get away with murder. My brother also used to breed miniature schauzers and I had one. If she ever shut up I'm not aware of it, but her personality made up for the noise. I guess I never met a dog I didn't like.
