I was reading a write-up with George Lucas recently and he made a comment that only 'die hard old male fans in their 40s sitting around in chat rooms' hated the stuff like Jar Jar in Episode 1. I was really amazed - could he not realize how much that character bothered so many people?
I was actually motivated to write a letter to him - something I've never done about a movie - to say it wasn't just middle-aged guys with nothing better to do ... it was a lot of us!
