From this diagram, you can tell that Monoceros is probably faint. There aren't any bright stars shown for it. But January is a good time to see the Unicorn if you have a clear dark sky. Most of it is tucked inside the Winter Triangle, which is highly visible.

I have seen the Winter Triangle a few times recently, but seen nothing inside it. (Didn't remember to pack my binoculars, so I don't know if they would have made any of the stars of Monoceros visible.)
