And what's the longest movie you've sat through, willingly or not?

The Lord of the Rings, which I wrote about this week, clocks in at 455,125 words, says commonplacebook.com. But that's nothing to Vikram Seth's A Suitable Boy (591,554 words). I have yet to read it.

I doubt there's a longer movie than The Return of the King, though. The theatrical release was 3 hours and 21 minutes! Never mind the Extended and Special Extended Blu-Ray editions – for true fans only.
