I know my bad diet is a cause of me not sleeping as well as I used to. I also often start (if i was not doing it before getting to bed) thinking about all my problems and then I go to my solutions then I start calculating so that gets me and my brain working. I also have been very tense a few times when I get to bed so that too does not help. I am about to start walking again, that should help me with being less stressed and sleeping better.
