CONSTANTINE MAROULIS WILL JOIN "JACQUES BREL" IN JANUARY 2007
FIRST PERFORMANCE IS TUESDAY, JANUARY 9TH
NEW PEFORMANCE SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED FOR 2007
It's official. Former "American Idol" finalist and current "THE
WEDDING SINGER" cast member CONSTANTINE MAROULIS will join the cast of the Off-Broadway musical revival "JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS," it was confirmed today by producer Dan Whitten. His
first official performance will be Tuesday, January 9th, 2007.
Maroulis joins original cast members Robert Cuccioli, Natascia Diaz
and Gay Marshall. Gordon Greenberg directed the hit musical revival
currently playing at the Zipper Theatre (336 West 37th Street).
In conjunction with Maroulis joining the cast, "JACQUES BREL" will
have a new performance schedule. Beginning Tuesday, January 9th,
the schedule will be as follows:
Tuesday @ 7PM
Wednesday @ 3PM and 8PM
Thursday @ 8PM
Friday @ 8PM
Saturday @ 3PM and 8PM
Sunday @ 3PM
"JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS" transforms Brel's astonishing musical compositions into a theatrical experience that has
enthralled audiences for nearly four decades. The original show opened
in 1968 at The Village Gate in Greenwich Village and ran for more than
four years.
With a cast of four actors and three musicians, the show celebrates
Brel's timeless relevance and enduring passions. Translated from the
French by American poet Eric Blau and lyricist Mort Shuman ("Save The
Last Dance For Me"), the show is a diverse blend of ballads, tangos,
boleros, rock and classics. With raw human emotion, each piece tells a
story, examining themes of love, war, adventure, broken dreams, people
from all classes, being young, growing old and death...but never
forgetting that life, with all its tragedies and complexities, shows
us much humor.
