Those of us from that *other place* have had this conversation before but I thought it might be fun to revisit it once again.

Have any of your animals -- pets or wild -- ever brought you or left you any, shall we say, surprises, or special *gifts*? How strange were they? Yesterday morning, I was checking my lovely hanging plant outside my front door to see if it needed watering and I found, half-embedded in the soil, what I thought was a chunk of that rather gross-looking foam stuff used in flower arranging. Upon closer examination, however, I realized it was a very mouldy piece of dinner roll!! The most disgusting part of it was, though, that it was PINK in colour!!! I wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that flowers in that pot are pink and maybe my watering had bled the colour onto the roll. EEEWWW!! Last year, I twice found half a dinner roll buried in my planters, at two separate times during the summer, presumably by squirrels. I don't often see the squirrels in the front, though. Very odd. <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

And this morning, I was checking that same plant in the front of the house and to my horror, my finger hit something hard again that was clearly NOT soil. With much trepidation, I peeked in, only to discover this time that it was a whole pinecone, buried almost completely!! eek

Maybe I should just provide them with a locker and they'll leave my plants alone!!!
