It has to be Sachin Tendulkar, Preena. He is probably the world's greatest ever batsman, but also seems to be a thoroughly decent and spiritual human being.
Although he had a relatively privileged background, he worked exceptionally hard from an early age to acquire his skills, and despite a bit of a 'wobbly' as far as performance goes some years ago he seems to be back to form now, so hopefully he has a few more years of playing left before he retires.
Have only ever seen him play on TV, but even then his personality comes over.
Interesting if he actually does decide to become an active member of parliament, no doubt he would have a strong following simply by virtue of who he is, but given his character he would use it for good.
