Its always just been me and my daughter. I went to the UK with her when she was 2. I will NEVER forget all the luggage we had with us. All the normal stuff but I also had her stroller AND her carseat.

By the time we got to Heathrow, I was staggering I was so tired and so was she. When we had to speak with the people who want to know what your purpose for visiting the UK, the guy asked me so many questions, the people behind me got annoyed. I thought I was never going to get all the luggage off the thing and on to the cart and drag us both. I remember our luggage barely fit into the car.

We had a great time. My daughter adjusted very quickly. We had a great time.

It's gotta be difficult traveling by yourself with kids, I can't even imagine not having an extra hand to help out, that's great that you're doing it! We have 3 but have yet to take them further than the Caribbean or the other side of the U.S. My younger two are a bit rambunctious for long flights yet smile

I live in Michigan and we go to New York every summer to pick up two of my kids that go their and visit their biological mother for the summer.

My current wife has a 13 year old son with a mild form of Autism and we have a three year old in common. Those two go with us when we go to New York and then we have four kids on the trip back. As of next summer, our daughter will be four, the two children we pick up will be nine and ten and her son will be fourteen.

We drive. It's a very long drive and even longer with the children. We have to stop constantly at rest areas for bathroom breaks and leg stretchings and there are some complaints about boredom, being tired, are we almost home, etc...

We bring portable dvd players with us, travel games and snacks, but they get old fast.

Its a very long trip and gets longer each year. lol.
