I listened to Sally Ann Glassman's commentary this morning. I hope everyone who wanders onto this forum will listen to it. (What a beautiful voice she has!!) I think when people hear the word 'Vodou' it conjures up feelings of fear, darkness, evil.....even satanic images. The people who began developing and practicing vodou are not unlike the Native American people who tried desperately for years to hold on to their language, traditions and cultures. Both Peoples were harshly punished for speaking their own languages and for holding Spiritual Ceremony. Her (Sally's) words were so gentle. If only ALL Peoples, no matter what their beliefs could somehow find a way to accept and RESPECT the diversity in each other; learn to appreciate and yes, even CELEBRATE each others differences rather than hate them. Can you imagine what a beautiful world this would be? It's the only way this planet is going to survive, you know.
