Kirstie Alley has returned to the limelight. She's talked about her weight, fat sex, her new t.v. show 'Fat Actress' and now she's appearing in the JC (guess, cause I don't want to give them any advertising) commercials. What do you think of the new Kirstie?

Wow, I was looking over the polls and was surprised who close the votes were for She's a sell out, I'm looking forward to watching Fat Actress, and she's a brilliant business woman.

I missed this poll back when it first went up, and it seems to not be pertinent (or as so now).

But I read an article about her (in People I think), about her weight struggle, and loss, and family. And I must say, she seems quite a real person to me.

Some people may have seen "Fat Actress" as a sell out; but I say it took guts to make fun of herslef that way. And a lot of us that struggle with weight do that. Make fun of ourselves first, before anyone else can. She just happened to be in an industry where she might be able to make money out of it, kind of slam the industry at the same time, and maybe get the attention of a few people while she was at it.

I'd kill to have her self confidence!

I think the poll is still getting action as it has over 140 votes and had something like ten when I started. I have it linked on a review and a commentary about her.

I really think the whole thing was taken out of proportion. All plus size celebrities can't be expected to be role models for all. I think what she did was good business sense. She kept herself in the business with an idea she formulated.

I've only seen clips of Fat Actress as we didn't get it up here. I think it's important to realize she's a character actress. She wasn't making fun of all fat people or saying all fat people eat donuts etc. It was a character sketch she developed. And the whole process might have even been cathartic for her.
