Have any of you guys tried growing this? We put some in last fall and it's doing pretty well!

I like bugleweed, also known as ajuga, and have planted it here and there. However it can get out of hand pretty quickly, and smother everything else within reach. I'm thinking of pulling it all out of the flower beds and putting it back under the trees where the myrtle has gone wild and letting the 2 of them slug it out.

I would be thrilled if it spread all within this garden area - right now it can look pretty weedy. So that's good news for me! There are walls on all sides so we'll see if it can actually get over / under those walls. I'll deal with that when we get there smile

It's spreading! Here are photos from today. I am halfway through moving all the iris to the back row. I had the iris interspersed within the bugleweed but it wasn't looking very good. So I'm separating them out into separate areas.

I'm very pleased with how the bugleweed is filling in. It will be a nice layer of flowers next spring.
